@postproctorism Probably it's utter sincerity and one of the few songs that doesn't rely on the aha moments when you're finally old enough to get the sex jokes/double entendres, 50's pop culture references that you need to research and also because it's not linked to the Danny/Sandy drama
@headlitesdeer As someone who went to a performing arts high school from 2007-2012 (From the height of emo/scene kid at it's most mainstream to Indie Tumblr/early Instagram hipster) this hits so much
@ItsRainingBen The real question is, if this show is ever revived will they overhaul all the pop culture references (Remember the Paris Hilton in Mame line?)
food and drinks consumed in a movie theater doesn’t really go into your body. it goes into your movie theater body which is separate & holy and harm-proof
@cormac_mccafe69 He's very much someone who had the luck of timing (His breakthrough being panel show work/The Project) and got off the latter at just the right time before the show consumed itself by it's own sense of worthiness/grew stale and was able to get onto the ABC just in time
@achingkneejoint To her credit she had settled back into Andy (The character was there) but whether the it was the writing or Anne herself didn't do the full recalibration to show the progress that she had made as a person did lessen the performance
@sweetchicmusic A- Changes in the music industry/tech (Why do a tv show where you can just do you tube/ tik tok etc.)
B- The shows becoming less about the contestants/becoming an easy cheque for the judges
C- Industry disinvestment (Lack of return of winners etc.)
@PatrickLenton Nah in this case whatever homosexual works for this publication knew exactly what was going to happen and either kept their mouth shut, did it knowing the engagement or did warn them know get's to do an I told you so
@laufbin Regardless of quality in purely technical terms of the performer's abilities, Sally is a character first role if you are emphasising vocal tricks etc. over the acting then it's a pointless performance. Especially if you return to Isherwood's original description of her performing
@dadafanboy Not defending the behaviour but it is important to note that during that period Britney dominated the conversation RE female artists (Either you were a direct peer/competition, someone who was there to follow her footsteps or you had to really distinguish why you weren't her)
