Idiot, this is what happens when you don’t pay attention in history class. This is also what happens when you don’t teach all of our history. There is no mention of civil rights that were gained through the movement, no mention of racism and lynching and Jim Crow and systemic tools used against black people. If there were no civil rights movement black people would still be in the same condition we were in before the laws came into place. If we didn’t fight for our civil rights we wouldn’t be able to go to any school, work at any job, get loans, eat at any restaurant, walk into any public building, there would still be black only water fountains and restrooms and entrances into buildings, we would not have the rights that being American provides in our current day.
