Today, our members @CalgaryPolice, our law enforcement partners, the community in #YYC, and most importantly, family & friends pause to remember one year ago and the tragic loss of Sgt. Andrew Harnett #4601. He will never be forgotten. A hero in service to community.
Went for a walk this morning. The sun was shining, the fall colours were stunning, the squirrels were playing, passers by were smiling, a small child said good morning. It was beautiful. Oh, and I saw 10 dogs. 10. It’s going to be a good day. #fall#friday#FridayFeeling#dogs
Reminder: Every 30 secs a fire doubles in size. #YYC is asking Calgarians if they want to save $6.90 annually on their tax bill for a 30 sec longer response time from Firefighters. Seconds count when it comes to people’s emergencies. Let the City know that response times matter.
Anyone else’s heart race every day? Because to be honest, mine does. I have felt crippled. Paralyzed. Furious. I’ve had to take long breaks from social media. Had waves of nausea. My children have seen me cry. I don’t know how to describe it.
With warmer weather starting, it’s time to bring back the #9PMRoutine! Make sure you check your vehicles, garage and house are secure before heading to bed to help prevent crimes of opportunity #yyc
Wishing my colleagues and all Emergency Communications Officers a happy National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week! Thank you for the incredible work you do 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Thank you for being the first of the first responders. #lightupgold#FirstResponders
#COVID19 has changed the way we do things, but connecting with you, #yyc, is always important! Staying apart and social distancing didn't stop these officers from staying in step with these fantastic community members. Thanks to HAWCS who captured this video while out on patrol.
