@aucklandzwitsch @HaydenDonnell@Trabaq They are killed by cars.
Exactly 0 pedestrians have died in NZ after being struck by an e-scooter. Ever.
Around 30 pedestrians are killed by motor vehicles each year.
E-scooters are not the problem.
@GraeSullivan@SikotiHamiltonR So on your basis the colonisers also didn't engage in science, seeing as the first double blind experiment was in 1835?
Newton, Huygens, Dalton et al = not scientists? What about Darwin.
I guess we should stop teaching any of their stuff?
@jetgalnz@flightlessrobot Um, they don't, which is why so many people die in car crashes even when hey are wrapped in 2 tonnes of armour with airbags, seat belts ans so on.
This is a direct consequence of decisions made by ATs Investment and Planning department, headed by Jenny Chetwynd and managed by Hamish Bunn - a name you might know from this excellent @HaydenDonnell breakdown:

I hate how the lower end of Queen St is now almost solely inhabited by luxury brands. Feels like I have to walk through a corridor where I'm not welcome every time I arrive in the city.
This is the flood report you won't see on the news.
We have to admit to the problem so we can change. Our farmers are stuck in the deeply flawed systems set up by settlers & our government is beholden to those who profit from them.
We need radical change.

@makeit16nz@efesocollins The whole argument is framed wrong anyway. Voting from 18 means that the average age you get to vote for the first time is 19.5.
@ClimateHuman The problem is that these negotiations are non-binding.
The COP should be regarded as an attempt to reach an amicable agreement.
If that fails, the consequence should not be total impunity, but full liability.
