He actively learns about his collaborators’ languages and cultures, picks up different vocabulary, and even incorporates it into the lyrics. When explaining things to foreign friends, he is patient, carefully explaining meanings while encouraging them along the way.

When overseas collaborators showed curiosity about the Great Wall, he naturally shared its historical significance, showing both his deep knowledge of and pride in Chinese history and culture. Incorporating traditional instruments into the song also reflected how cultural fusion and innovation have always been one of his strengths. During the recording process, he actively shared creative ideas and even came up with cute little actions he wanted to try together with his collaborators.
At the end, Yixing said, “Hope you guys like this China trip,” and the response he received was, “These people are your bigger fans now.”

Honestly, I think anyone who has spent time with Yixing would come away feeling respected, cared for, and truly heard. That naturally makes people want to know more about him and the things he’s creating.
