Regarding recent media reports discussing the impact of CBA rules on team bids for restricted free agents: Of this year's 12 RFAs, two changed teams via sign-and-trade, the most since 2021; two signed offer sheets with new teams, tied for the most since 2018; and six agreed to multi-year deals with their prior teams. It is not unusual at this point in the offseason that a couple of negotiations remain ongoing.
Mark Ruffalo's latest attack on the Paramount-Warner Bros. merger slammed the Ellison family's ties to Israel and their role in “what we now have come to see as a genocide” in Gaza.
Ruffalo shared a video of Oracle’s executive vice chair Safra Catz boasting about the company’s efforts to "advance the agenda for the Israeli military" by making "really profoundly scary technology" available to them.
"This is the company that Larry Ellison is using to fund his son David’s Warner Bros acquisition," Ruffalo wrote in a fiery post. "These 'really profoundly scary technologies; will most likely be merged into one of the largest media conglomerates in the world and one day used on you... From one of the biggest tech companies in the world. Powering some of the most destructive and inhuman forces in the world. Why has Trump pushed this illegal merger through? Larry Ellison will own most of 'Para Bros.' Larry is a classic Oligarch. They are crushing workers and consolidating the wealth of the world for their own power and concentrated dominance..."

I recently signed a 2-year, $12M NBA contract.
Looking back, 3 decisions shaped how I got here:
1. Turned down an extra ~$250K to transfer for my 5th year and stayed at Stanford.
2. Chose to go undrafted instead of getting drafted so I could pick the best situation. That led me to Denver.
3. Turned down a ~$2M guaranteed extension to bet on myself in free agency. I risked injury, poor play, or getting nothing.
I ended up earning roughly 3x that offer.
Three times I had the opportunity to take the money/status in front of me.
Three times I chose the option I thought gave me the best long-term expected value.
$250K → No. Getting drafted → No. $2M guaranteed → No.
Eventually → $12M.
Sometimes the biggest risk is taking the safe option too early.

It annoys me so much when I hear that Nolan got ‘lucky’ having top scores on films like Interstellar. One of the greatest qualities of Nolan that people never talk about is his talent for directing composers, he knows how to get the absolute best out of them. It’s no coincidence that most of the finest compositions by Zimmer and Göransson are for Nolan films. I’m sure he could pick anyone and the score would still end up being good, because every time he gives his composers time and the best possible direction.
Being a Laker means everything to me, and I’m excited to get back on the court and bring a championship to LA. I’ve gotten used to big changes over these last few years, but I know that no matter what, there is no limit to the potential of this iconic franchise. I look forward to meeting Josh and Bob so we can get to work building something special in LA together.
Mark Walter's timeline as Lakers owner:
•June 2025: Buys team from Buss family for $10B
•July 2026: Feds reportedly probing $16B in undisclosed loans tied to his empire
•August 2026: Sells to Josh Kushner & Bob Iger for record $12.5B
Convenient timing, to say the least.
Charles Melton has reportedly passed on the role of Beast in the ‘X-MEN’ reboot film.
The full cast was initially expected to be announced at D23, but that may no longer happen.

Trade deadline will be on February 11, 2027, per NBA.
Teams have a week from today to sign players to extensions that create a six-month trade restriction and have them trade-eligible by the trade deadline.

Mahershala Ali says he will no longer star as Blade.
He trained for a year to prepare for ‘Blade’ so he used the sword training for his next action film ‘Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother’.
