SMBC's Independent Travel Training Unit (ITTU); raising aspirations of individuals with difficulties, promoting independence and celebrating public transport.
Good afternoon, Sandwell!
Our Travel Training team has completed Challenging Behaviours: Prevent, Reduce & Replace training with PECS education. Gaining practical strategies to better support our young people going forward.
Over 1,000 people were killed or seriously injured on West Midlands roads last year — every one a life changed forever.
Visit Sandwell Council House to read messages from families affected by dangerous driving.
Take a moment to reflect and leave your own note for safer roads.
Good afternoon Sandwell!
We had the pleasure of presenting our trainees from The Westminster School with their Travel Training certificates.
We're proud of all our trainees for the hard work they have put into becoming independent travellers! Keep up the great work.

On Friday 15th March we held our awards evening where we celebrated the achievements of all our fantastic trainees who became independent travelers! We heard from multiple parents and former trainees who all shared their experiences of Travel Training.
Today marks international women’s day (IWD)
2021's IWD theme is #ChooseToChallenge, every year we moved towards a fairer and more equal world, where the conversation grows, actions increase, and a more and more liberal and inclusive way of thinking is achieved.
Leading up to young carers day on Tuesday 16th March 2021 we are working towards promoting awareness for young carers across Sandwell. This year’s theme is ‘protect young carers futures’.
Please see the poster below for more details. #youngcarersweek#youngcarers#Sandwell

Hello Sandwell,
During the pandemic some bus, train and metro services have changed, some services may become more frequent and some may have become less frequent.
Just remember to always check the bus, train and metro online time tables before setting out.
Stay safe.
Hello Sandwell,
When paying for your travel fare try and use a contactless form of payment instead of cash, this will help to reduce the transmission of COVID-19
Stay safe.
