With only 39 copies officially distributed, this card was crafted as the prize for the CoroCoro Comic Illustration Contest held in 1997/98. In July 2021, a similar Gem Mint 10 Pokémon Illustrator (graded by another third-party grader) set a world record as the most expensive Pokémon card ever sold/traded (deal value est. $5.275 million.) The card artwork of Pikachu holding a paintbrush was done by none other than the creator of Pikachu, Atsuko Nishida. The Katakana characters have been inscribed
along side the other card data on the top of the transparent TAG slab.
