#JanaNayagan CENSOR UPDATE

- It has been more than a week since the Madras High Court Division Bench passed its order.

- The producer has not filed an appeal in the Supreme Court. He has also not approached the High Court to amend or withdraw the writ petition.

- This suggests that the film may have been referred to the CBFC Revising Committee.The CBFC’s decision to maintain confidentiality could be the reason for the silence from the producer and the film team.

- If the Revising Committee gives a favourable recommendation, the producer may withdraw the writ petition and release the film.

- All of this is speculation, as no one directly involved has confirmed anything yet.

There’s been a lot of noise about why the #JanaNayagan team didn’t opt for a Revising Committee (RC). Here’s the truth.

Until the night of January 5, the team was kept in the dark. The Regional CBFC kept assuring that the certificate would be issued “anytime soon.” Only at the last moment were they told to apply for an RC—by then, crucial time was already lost.

The reality:
• Forming an RC can take up to 20 days
• Final certification can take another 10 days

That’s a minimum 30-day delay, which would have completely disrupted the release plan.

Approaching the court wasn’t a shortcut—it was a necessity to protect the film, the efforts of thousands, and the trust of millions of Vijay fans.

Either way, JanaNayagan would’ve missed the Pongal release. Given the situation, this was the most responsible decision.

This is about doing what’s right and standing strong—just like Thalapathy Vijay always does.

How has the Jananayagan film team created drama?

In the case of the film #Parasakthi, the Censor Board asked for the removal of 25 important dialogues. The film team immediately removed them, resubmitted the film, and obtained the U/A certificate.

However, for the film #Jananayagan, the Censor Board asked for the removal of scenes involving Army LOGO and six scenes related to religion. But instead of complying, the film team deliberately fought with the Censor Board for promotional purposes and used this as a reason to delay the film’s release.
