There is only one solution to the All Digital gaming nightmare we are being faced with. The same solution that worked to get the Sonic movie un-garbaged. And it's not complaining on Reddit or 𝕏. It's not even a boycott, they will just assume low sales low interest.

Actively supporting those who put game on physical medium first. Trade in your digital Xbox or Playstation for a disc Edition. Purchase a Switch two and maybe even a Switch one. Selling your digital Edition keeps them from getting a new sale of a digital Edition they will make no money on your resale. They will be making money on the disc edition and that's all their bottom line will show. Leave negative reviews on All Digital Editions of any non-pc based Hardware.

Spend 6 months finding and playing all the amazing games that are available with the entire game on disc no internet required.

And finally actively leaving negative reviews on any game you are interested in purchasing "I would really love this game, looks amazing, but I will not support the anti-consumer practices of a long-term rental and I will purchase this game in full when physical copies are available. 1☆"

If you cannot enough game on disc games worth playing you're either not trying very hard or you are a very limited Spectrum gamer.

* caveat, Indie developers can rarely afford to ship anything physically and should not be judged to the same as multi-billion dollar companies choosing to send you an empty plastic box destined for the landfill. They can receive a different type of review.

"I love this game, I do wish the developers could offer it in physical form so I could have it and enjoy it forever. I would gladly pay again and more for a physical edition if they ever release it"

It's going to take a lot of work but it's a battle worth fighting. Make it a personal goal to leave one negative review on one game you like, that is digital only, everyday until you start running out. Then switch from whatever platform, amazon, best buy, gamestop, that you are leaving reviews, and start leaving them again on other sources.

It's a hard task, and it's dangerous to go out alone, we got this!
