Sretan Dan hrvatske diplomacije! 🌍 🇭🇷

Danas, 7. lipnja, obilježavamo Dan hrvatske diplomacije, sjećajući se povijesnog trenutka iz 879. godine kada je papa Ivan VIII. uputio pismo knezu Branimiru. U tom pismu, papa priznaje Branimira kao zakonitog vladara te blagoslivlja njega, njegov narod i njegovu zemlju. Ovaj čin predstavlja prvo međunarodno priznanje hrvatske državnosti od strane najvišeg autoriteta toga vremena, pape.

Iako su tadašnji uvjeti bili različiti od današnjih, ovaj trenutak ostaje simboličan početak hrvatske prisutnosti na međunarodnoj političkoj sceni. Danas, više od tisuću godina kasnije, zahvaljujemo svim diplomatkinjama i diplomatima koji svojim radom nastavljaju graditi i jačati ugled naše domovine u svijetu.

Obilježavamo i 27. obljetnicu uspješnog završetka mirne reintegracije hrvatskog Podunavlja, postignuće koje svjedoči snazi dijaloga i diplomatskih napora u službi mira i teritorijalne cjelovitosti Republike Hrvatske.
