For decades, Netanyahu has framed the ME as an Iranian octopus, its tentacles stretching across the region. Now, on trial for corruption and fraud, he’s pursuing that vision to its end, blurring the line between Israel’s security and his own fate.

🍒 #Report | Since the 1960s, the village of Hammana, located in the highlands of Mount Lebanon, has organized a festival dedicated to cherries. The event showcases the work of the region's farmers and artisans, while also offering activities for visitors.
Usually held over two days, the Hammana Cherry Festival, dubbed "Cherry Day," took place this year as a single-day event, due to the country's economic and political situation.

🖊️ #Commentary | Resignation does not make a nation
"Rarely has the relationship between Lebanon and Iran been described with such candor. For years, we heard talk of Jerusalem, resistance, unity across all fronts, and a shared destiny in the face of Israel. Today, Lebanon bears the wounds, but Iran reaps the rewards."

#EDITORIAL✍️ | How can we still hope for anything at this point, with Israel on one hand, just a few months ahead of the general elections and having been abandoned by its ally in Iran, determined to defend tooth and nail its maximalist vision, and with Hezbollah on the other hand, ready to do everything it takes to torpedo the process?

The U.S. has sanctioned Mahmoud Qomati, a senior Hezbollah politburo member, and most importantly, Sleiman Frangieh, the party’s most loyal Christian ally (effectively killing his dream of becoming President). At a time when Hezbollah is contemplating a (possibly violent) political comeback in Lebanon, the message is clear.
🟥 #WarinLebanon | When life in south Lebanon moves north
In various areas north of the Zahrani River, those evacuated by Israel from their villages are forced to adapt to displacement and are already reshaping the social and economic landscape — though everyone still hopes this will only be temporary.

🖊️ #OPED | Lebanon’s silver lining in the Iran-US deal
Lebanon’s negotiators should highlight that the memorandum of understanding does not resolve Lebanon’s conflict with Israel to insist on a separate negotiations track, backed by the United States and supported by international partners.

✒️War in Iran: Lessons from a defeat
"For Lebanon, the agreement in the works looks like a double penalty. We risk suffering both from Israeli occupation and Hezbollah’s revenge.
"Both will dig in even further on their positions toward the state — the former by setting impossible conditions, the latter by threatening to topple the government."

🟥 #Report | In September 2025, Lebanon permanently closed the juvenile wing of Roumieh Prison. A year after these young people were transferred to the Warwar Rehabilitation Center, we visited this unique alternative to prison.
The project, stalled since 1999 due to a lack of funding, finally came to fruition thanks to funds allocated by the European Union and the cooperation of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
Here, the approach is different: Through intensive three-month training programs provided by the Mouvement Social association, the Afif Osseiran Foundation, and the Lebanese American University, and with non-stigmatizing diplomas, the goal is to break the cycle of delinquency and facilitate reintegration upon release.
However, the staff's ambitions are hampered by the fallout from the war and the crisis.
