A strong and important message from President Paul Kagame. True progress comes not just from recognizing Africa’s talent, but from investing in the education and skills that help young people compete globally.
Thank you, Mzee wacu PK, for always pushing a vision of action, discipline, and empowerment for the next generation.
“We often talk about Africa having an abundance of talent, but the conversation cannot end there. It is important to follow this with action, and equip our young people with the knowledge and skills to compete with the rest of the world.” President Kagame

@Ivmbaraga , Executive Director of OC Rwanda, opened our 20th Anniversary Gala with words that set the tone for the evening.
To the partners. The leaders. The advisory council. The alumni committee. The founders. The families. The friends.
Every single one of you built this night. Every single one of you built these 20 years.
We did not gather tonight to mark a date on a calendar. We gathered to honour what happens when people commit to something bigger than themselves.

20 years ago it was a vision. Tonight it is a movement.
Chancellor @JdeSteiguer stood before Rwanda's finest tonight and said something that will echo for years to come.
"Let's not just celebrate. Let's get to work."
Because this partnership was never just about degrees. It was always about what happens after. The boardrooms. The communities. The lives shaped. The nation built.

“In 2006, the first ten Rwandan students went to study at Oklahoma Christian University through the Presidential Scholars Program. Two decades later, there are more than 700 alumni who serve in strategic leadership positions, including senior government officials and executives in the private sector. Because of the success of our Presidential scholars, more universities started extending scholarship opportunities to privately funded students.
As a country, we look forward to continuing building on the achievements of our strong collaboration. Twenty-years is a special milestone. Let’s keep working together to write the next chapter of our journey.” President Kagame | Twenty-year celebration of Rwanda and Oklahoma Christian University Partnership
In 2004, OC President Mike and Nancy visited Rwanda for a week. From that single trip, a 20 year relationship was born one built on leadership, education, and faith.
"We feel this country is a second home." @JdeSteiguer
OC's Fireside Chat on Drivers of Economic Transformation brought together delegates from Oklahoma Christian University and Rwandan leaders the night before the 20th anniversary.
“Rwanda has now own several world class institutions. This aligns with our country’s vision of becoming the regional hub for innovation.”

The partnership will enable eligible students recommended by Oklahoma Christian University – #Rwanda to access financing for Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes, easing the financial burden and expanding opportunities for more #Rwandans to pursue higher education.
Celebrating 20 years of a partnership built on trust, impact, and shared progress. As President Paul Kagame once noted, the relationship with OC is ‘without doubt among the most productive and meaningful that we enjoy with institutions of higher learning around the world.’ Today, as we mark this milestone, we reflect on that vision and the journey it continues to inspire.
