Happy birthday to the one and only John Young 🥳
Young was widely regarded as an “astronaut’s astronaut” for his innate abilities, technical competence, and generosity in teaching others. He served as an astronaut longer than anyone to date: 42 years. https://t.co/eiPj3NsyPd
Wishing a Happy Birthday to the @usairforce – a highly distinguished service built by generations of great patriots that I’m beyond proud to have been a part of! From the skies, to space, to our strategic needs, the U.S. Air Force has always shown us how to #AimHigh and Fly-Fight-Win for the nation. For having just turned 76, you’re looking pretty good! #AProudSalute
#HappyBirthday@usairforce! 🎉
You’ve been aiming high for 76 years into the wild blue yonder with #airpower.
You're cleared to fly, fight, win and blow out your candles. 🎂
While Neptune was discovered on this evening in 1846, I was the first spacecraft to observe the planet up close! It was the last planet I visited in the solar system before venturing into the great unknown, er, interstellar space. - V2
Today is a day that hits hard for all Americans. What started out as a beautiful and crystal-clear September morning twenty-two years ago saw a monumental tragedy that changed our Nation and our world forever. But it is important to remember that despite the anguish, pain and terror of the attacks, it was also a day of incalculable heroism, dedication and service to others. These are the stories that we need to remember as we look back on that fateful day.
The price of liberty and peace is not without cost, and over the course of our nation’s history, that cost has unfortunately included Americans who served as prisoners of war or who went missing in action. On this POW/MIA recognition day, we remember the service of those imprisoned in war and those whose remains were never recovered. I’ve had several friends who spent time in captivity, and their stories deserve to be told. I’m also glad that the search continues daily to locate, identify and return our fellow citizens back home. #NeverForgetten
Happy first day of fall! 🍁 🌻 🍂
Enjoy this picture taken by Voyager 1 of Jupiter's Great Red Spot looking suspiciously similar to a PSL. 🎃 Maybe it needs a dash more cinnamon!
This equinox, cozy up to the fire and learn more about the Great Red Spot: https://t.co/qIJAgKt9fy
Fourteen years ago, when the big three automakers were struggling to stay afloat, my administration and the American people stepped in to support them. So did the auto workers in the UAW who sacrificed pay and benefits to help get the companies back on their feet. Now that our carmakers are enjoying robust profits, it’s time to do right by those same workers so the industry can emerge more united and competitive than ever.
My weekend challenge to the Pump Club: Whether you pick up a book you’ve been meaning to read or talk to someone you’ve never spoken to, I want you to learn one new thing this weekend. Stay Hungry! https://t.co/WXBvLkbVsI
Today is a day of reflection and most of all, remembrance, for those we lost on September 11. May we never forget to tell their stories and honor their legacies.
Today I am thinking about all those who lost their lives and loved ones 22 years ago, the courageous first responders who saved so many, and the lives that were forever changed that day. We will never forget.
I’m grateful to President Bush for these wise words and for the creation of PEPFAR, one of the most important and impactful American programs of the 21st century. It was passed with big bipartisan majorities and should be reauthorized without delay. Doing so will save millions more lives and bring us closer to the end of the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
