I thought the brexit vote was an ember of racism which is now bursting into the flames of hatred and violence we see in the riots over the last few days. The rise of the far right is alarming.
I have 3 Olympic suggestions. 1. Allow any body part which crosses the line first to determine the winner of races. 2. Have a slow motion replay on skeet shooting. 3. Give three points for a gold, 2 for a silver and one for a bronze to decide the order in the medal table.
Two things increased my excitement watching Eng v France tonight in South Africa. Having the electricity coming back on in time and listening to the tv pundits talking in different three languages in the same sentence.
I wonder if Brendan McCullum could also do the England Rugby coaching job? We used to be able to play cricket and rugby in the different seasons of the year...
I hope that Scotland can beat New Zealand at rugby union in the next three years. That way it wonβt be twice my age until the Sweaties first ever win against the All Blacks... They had a chance today but fumbled the opportunity. Shame.
It's been an extraordinary day. English cricket records, British tennis success and some small but hopefully significant amounts of conservative conscience and contrition.
Just a heads up to my handful of followers that if you book using trainline, the mobile app is very much cheaper for tickets than the browser page to the main site. My journey to Carlisle is Β£150 cheaper on the mobile app for the identical time train.
Tripadvisor's highest rated places in 2022 order: Dubai, London, CancΓΊn, Bali, Crete, Rome, Cabo San Lucas, Istanbul, Paris, Hurghada.
Iβve not been to Bali, Cabo San Lucas or Hurghada, but of the others, Dubai is my least favourite, having just spent 4 expensive days there.
Some abstentions are from countries that youβd think would know better. An article from Kate Dent helps to explain the SA position. https://t.co/YiDc1Y8IwN
Good to hear that Coca Cola are pulling out of Russia, I was thinking I might need to change my preferred tonic from Schweppes otherwise. I still wonβt be driving any JCBs after their Brexit support though...π Or going to any Wetherspoons ever. Or using a Dyson. They suck.
Iβd like to do something to support Ukraine at this terrible time, but not sure what to do. Iβve donated. Iβve glared at the Russians at our breakfast. Iβm thinking get up earlier and put Lego in their shoes.
We genuinely didnβt think weβd need to say this, but Russia moving troops into Ukraine does not entitle you to a refund, no matter how abusive you are to our Box Office staff.
As far as weβre aware, Russia hasnβt invaded Hull yet π€¦π»ββοΈ
