A Short Story of What Happened Yesterday
Yesterday, during our inter-community match between two quarters in my community, everyone was marveled at the stunning saves I was pulling off. We were underrated, so we kept fighting hard for a win.
In the second half, it started raining. Just after the rain stopped, I had my first muscle spasm. I was quickly attended to, and we continued the match. My teammates became afraid, but God gave me the strength to hold the ball and make the crucial save.
However, a short while later, the muscle spasm struck again — this time in both legs. I couldn’t move. In all my years of playing football, I had never experienced such a severe muscle spasm.
I was crying and shouting that this wasn’t ordinary. “How can this be happening to me?” I thought. After spending a long time on the pitch, my brother quickly rushed me to the hospital. Our second goalkeeper continued the match, and by God’s grace, we won.
But I still wasn’t myself. It felt as if I had suffered a stroke. I couldn’t walk and I was shaking uncontrollably.
At that moment, my mum wasn’t comfortable anymore. She quickly took me to a traditional doctor, and I saw something I never expected — a cow bone 🦴 and a stone were brought out from my leg. The person said they had done it to me so that I would leave the field and allow their team to score a goal.
Thank God we won the match, and I am fine now.
Thank God! 🙏
