Beyond Trump. No To Vladimir Trumptin.

The United States of America has signed a nuclear deal with Saudi Arabia. The POTUS is reported to have stated that there will be no enrichment yet under the present agreement. Most likely all that will be done under certain conditions later.

I know that the implications of this deal will be lost on many of us because for some inexplicable but disheartening reasons, some of us have handicapped our brains from critical and sound reasoning with religious, racial and other ideological sentiments.

Under Trump, America has been at war with Iran, an avoidabke and senseless war that has affected global economy and makes everyone a victim one way or the other. In their inconsistent utterances. Trump's administration said they were waging the war against Iran to stop it from developing nuclear weapons. Never mind that under the last administration, a deal was made with Iran to end nuclear enrichment, a deal which the UN backed.

In any case, the same nuclear technology Trump is using as excuse to wage war against Iran is what he has "graciously and generously" allowed Saudi Arabia to pursue.

There are basically two things I want to say: under Obama, Libya was wasted. Obama is democrat. I can't remember the Democrat senators speaking out against him as they are presently doing against Trump. One kennedy Iwuoha succinctly captured this hypocrisy in a comment under Charles Kaye Okoye's wall.
If Trump were a Democrat, do you think the democrats would be this loud and passionate in their criticism of this senseless war? I doubt so.

What is undeniable is that under Democratic and Republican POTUS, countries have been invaded arbitrarily by the USA, Iran is just the latest victim. So, this is beyond Trump, but also definitely about him. He is the current headliner and face of repeated US hostile foreign policy. Iran is the latest victim, Iran might not be the last, but could and should definitely be the last if you and i can add our voices to say no to the hegemonic tyranny of super powers. By 'you and i' i mean common citizens of vulnerable nations who are just on the menu list waiting for when the appetite of the MASTER turns our direction.

Which brings me to the second point: it is really disheartening to see vulnerable citizens of vulnerable countries that can become victims of a super power invasion taking sides on a war they should say only one word, NO.

Saying NO to the war against Iran doesn't mean you support Iranian regime and whatever they do to their people. It doesn't also mean you hate the USA. It simply means you are compassionate enough to say no to something that increases the suffering of fellow innocent and helpless citizens like you in another geographical space. Same thing applies to the war against Ukraine by Russia.

NO to these wars simply means you are intelligent enough to speak against an avoidable tragedy that could befall you too if it's allowed to continue.

Every single European ally of the USA has said NO to this war, which is the most rational thing to do, but you are in Nigeria gloating over Iran's misery and praising the war mongers to high heavens. Who do una this thing sef?

Say 'NO' to Vladimir Trumptin, it is the rational, christian and moral thing to say.

Mosquitoes and Owls(Ekwikwii)

Approximately 200,0000 people die of malaria in Nigeria every year. Mosquitoes, of course are the transmitters. So we can say mosquitoes kill about 200,000 Nigerians every year. These are real, certified, verified and tangible deaths. Let's not even talk about the financial drain mosquitoes inflict on millions of Nigerians who have to treat malaria.

Yet, you are not alarmed or scared when you see mosquitoes flock around you even when you are in church and your miracle centers. The simple and single reason you are not terrified of mosquitoes or cast and bind them is because your powerful prophets haven't told you they are demonic animals. They haven't told you about mosquitoes same thing they told you about owls or black pussy cats.

You fear owls that have not been proven to kill one person but are normal with mosquitoes that slaughter thousands. I'm sure i sound strange to you, yes, same way owls are the strange animals that should never be seen around you and in your sleep, but mosquitoes can.

You see that fear and shiver that runs down your spine when you see owls around your window, it is neither natural nor normal. It is irrational. You see those casting and binding you do, they are not supernatural or spiritual, they are irrational. Mosquitoes are proven to be more dangerous to humans than owls, but you are taught to dear owls than mosquitoes. I will rather be surrounded by a thousand owls than one mosquito. If prayers can kill dangerous animals that harm you, please direct them against mosquitoes. Owl no send you.

Yesterday evening, on my way home from a program, I got caught in a terrible traffic jam caused by road construction.

Like everyone else, I thought it would clear in a few minutes. But five minutes became thirty, thirty became one hour, and before we knew it, we had been stuck for over two hours.

You can already imagine how our people would react in such a situation. There was chaos everywhere. Passengers in commercial buses got down and started trekking. Motorists stepped out of their cars and were discussing the situation.

Some blamed impatient drivers, others blamed the traffic officials, while a few blamed the government. I, too, was frustrated because I was rushing home for another important engagement.

Then something unexpected happened.

Among those trekking, I recognized a woman who lives close to my community. The commercial bus she was travelling in had broken down in the traffic. She told me she had decided to look for somewhere to spend the night and continue her journey the next day because it had become too late. Seeing me, she said, was a huge relief.

She joined in the waiting and a few minutes later, the traffic finally began to move.

As we drove away, a thought came to my mind: Yes, the traffic delayed me and I missed my program. But perhaps that delay was also the reason I was there to help someone who would otherwise have been stranded.

My frustration suddenly gave way to gratitude.

As a person, life has taught me that every situation carries a lesson.

Not everything that delays you is working against you. Sometimes, what feels like an inconvenience is quietly creating an opportunity to bless someone else or even preparing a blessing for you.

Perhaps we would find more peace if we reacted positively to negative situations and looked a little harder for the good hidden within life's interruptions.

Just about two months ago, the Catholic Bishops of Nigeria and the faithful of Benin Archdiocese gathered in joyful thanksgiving to celebrate the 20th episcopal ordination anniversary of Bishop Augustine Akubeze.

In a few weeks, they will gather again, but this time, not in celebration, but to commend him to God's eternal mercy at his funeral.

Life is truly fleeting. May we never take a single day for granted.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord.

This video of Bishop Augustine Akubeze of Benin Archdiocese was recorded just six days ago during his visit to one of his priests serving in a parish in the UK. This evening, we received the heartbreaking news of his passing.

One moment, we are making memories. The next, we become memories.

May the Lord whom he served faithfully grant him eternal rest, and may perpetual light shine upon him. Amen.

ABEOKUTA - HUMILITY AT ITS PEAK

There's one moment during a Catholic priestly ordination that never fails to humble me.

Imagine this: a bishop who has spent years leading a diocese, a successor of the Apostles suddenly goes down on his knees before a priest who was ordained just moments ago.

Why?

Because in the Catholic Church, grace is not about status. It's about God's action.

That newly ordained priest has just received the Sacrament of Holy Orders. And the bishop, despite his office, recognizes the unique grace God has poured out at that moment. So he humbly asks for the new priest's blessing and prayers.

It's a powerful reminder that true greatness in the Church is found in humility. The one who ordained now kneels. The shepherd bows his head. And everyone present witnesses a lesson that words alone cannot teach.

This is one of the many reasons Catholic ordinations are so beautiful. They don't just tell us what humility looks like, they show it.

May God continue to bless Bishop Peter Odetoyinbo and all our newly ordained priests. Please remember them in your prayers.
