A new NPFL season is almost here.
Feeling highly motivated and grateful for another opportunity to contribute, improve and bring new ideas to the Match Analysis Department.
There’s a lot I want to add this season. New standards, better processes, and greater value to the team.
Next week Friday, we begin.
RE: Transfer fees details for Tijani Al-Ameen and Ismail Ayodele:
This is one topic that the media should use to educate the fans and supporters of football clubs in Nigeria.
This is not a Nigerian problem but something that usually happens in Europe as well. A lot of clubs in Europe also don't disclose the financial figures in their official statement. This is not about integrity but administrative decisions.
Using a recent transfer of Taiwo Awoniyi from Nottingham Forest to Coventry City (Full statement here >>> https://t.co/1LL4b7e9cF), the financial figures were not mentioned.
The financial figures are usually revealed exclusively by independent media like Fabrizio, Sky Sports, BBC, MikeThePundit, AGT, and co.
For us at Shooting Stars Sports Club, we are sponsored by the Oyo State Government, and our books are audited by the necessary authorities.
For the two transfers that we have completed, both clubs decided to keep the figures undisclosed, and these are based on several administrative factors.
These administrative factors can't be disclosed, and even if I do, the fans still won't understand the reasons.
However, I can assure you all that our books are transparent and our sponsor(s) are happy with our efforts to reposition our sports club.
Our transparency and improved players contract ensured that Shooting Stars can properly transfer players abroad without anyone cutting corners.
For the first time in a long time, Shooting Stars were able to improve the financial base of the club with the transfer of players abroad.
Another topic is: why are we selling?
I have explained this a lot of times, and this is a factor affecting all NPFL clubs. The club can't keep its stars, and if you block these players from moving abroad, your club will be stereotyped.
The clubs are in the middle of many circumstances that weaken the quality base and strength.
The NPFL needs reforms and funding to be able to keep these boys for a longer period, as well as a policy that will protect the clubs from making money from these transfers.
Sadly, clubs abroad will take our players away on a free transfer; how will the club funds their operational costs if they did not make money from player transfers?
I'm honoured to be part of the Shooting Stars project led by Hon. Taiwo Lekan-Salami for improving the club on all fronts and setting up a high standard that will position the club to a prosperous level with continuity and more hard work.
We appreciate all Shooting Stars fans and supporters for their unprecedented support. We are looking forward to greater seasons together.
In this life, sha, don’t let anybody rush you.
At 33, with a first-class degree, I was still sleeping on my parents’ couch in Ebute Metta, trying to figure life out.
I didn’t get my dream job until I was 36. I got married at 35 and started married life in a room and parlour tiny rooms in Mushin.
I started a business at 38 and failed woefully.
I tried again in my 40s. Failed again.
At 46, I opened an art gallery at Adeniran Ogunsanya, Lagos. It failed too.
At 47, I returned to the yoghurt business. Failed again.
At 48, we started again.
Then, at almost 50, I was compulsorily retired from my job.
Instead of seeing it as the end, I went fully into the yoghurt business.
I relocated to the UK at almost 52.
By 54, we had recorded over ₦2 billion in sales.
So please, be inspired by other people’s success, but never allow their success to put you under pressure.
Some people bloom at 25.
Some at 35.
Some at 50.
Some even later.
Your timeline is different.
Keep learning.
Keep trying.
Keep failing forward.
Keep moving.
You are not late. You are still writing your story.
Good evening.😊
A new chapter begins.
Honoured to have this picture with our new Technical Adviser, Coach Yusuf Salisu.
His experience across Nigerian football, including at the highest level with the Super Eagles and several leading NPFL clubs, brings a wealth of knowledge, tactical experience and leadership to our technical setup.
As we prepare for the new season, I’m looking forward to learning, contributing and working together to help the team reach greater heights.
New season. New ideas. Bigger ambitions.
May we achieve great things together. 🙏🏾
