I finished strong too, batting .524, 2 3Bs, 2 2Bs, and OPS of 1.425 in the two showcases. Highlights attached.

A few highlights from the weekend. We were Owl City Power Pool Champs! We came together to overcome some challenges and played well down the stretch!

I batted .500, 1 Double, 4 Runs Scored, 3 RBI, 1 BB, 1 HBP.

Wisdom teeth out yesterday. Rest for a week and then start the off-season

Congratulations to these ladies for putting together a great bracket run. It was exciting to watch as great pitching, strong defense, and consistent timely hitting powered us over some really good teams!

🏆Owl City Power Pool Runner-up🏆

I'm proud to call this group of young ladies and families my softball family.

We fought through torrential down pours, rain delays, stinky, soggy shoes and socks, and, of course, some really top notch competition. I was impressed with the quality of hitting and pitching we faced. We had some ups and downs, but this team pulled it together to find our way into the Power Pool Finals where we came up short against a very good Atlanta Vipers White team with the Georgia Gatorade Player of the Year in the circle. As good as she was, I wouldn't trade ours who are every bit as good in my opinion.

I'll admit, when the championship game ended, and the result wasn't in our favor, the Runner-up didn't feel all that great. I think the sentiment was pretty widely shared, especially after an emotional battle. I think reflection and perspective after emotions settle a bit is good for the soul though. Had you told me a year ago, or even a month ago, we'd be competing toe to toe with these teams and taking home a Runner-up in our first season in power pools, I would have signed up for that in a heartbeat. I hate to lose, but I'd rather lose to really good teams that force us to grow than beat on teams that don't push us.

This group has fought and scratched our way from a rag tag group and managed to EARN our way into Power Pools 18 months later. Already this summer, we've faced multiple collegiate rising sophomore All-Americans, collegiate All-Conferences, SEC commits, numerous D1 commits, a Team USA player, and numerous other accomplished committed players so far this summer. In the games we've lost, almost all were by 1 run, and the game was there for the taking had we had a timely hit or not made a defensive mistake.

Growing pains are painful but the key is to grow through them. I'm beyond proud of these girls and these families. Words cannot begin to express...
