What we have here with the GNT seems to be a complete doctoring of the words on the scripture itself.
The line Ted Cruz repeated about the Bible saying "Whoever blesses Israel will be blessed, and whoever curses Israel will be cursed" appears to have its origins in an obscure translation of the Old Testament put out by the American Bible Society in 1976.
Note how none of these other translations of the same verse even say the word "Israel."
