@SteveBread@tipping_pitches No YOU want a salary cap and floor. I’m a pirates fan and I’m not even asinine or hopeless enough to believe that a cap/floor situation would be good for the sport or the players of said sport.
@CLBClippers how do you have a $5 draft beer night and run out of michelob ultra by the top of the 3rd inning? Bad business from a minor league team on a promo night
Imagine being a Browns fan, watching that nightmare of a kicking clinic from your guy, and then flipping over to the Steelers game and almost immediately watching boz nail a 60 yard game winner. That’s gotta hurt
@plainview8585@ClaireBear0315@Maddog_219 8 innings 2 ER=2.25 ERA. Paul has an ERA of 2.03. I fully understand what you all are saying. I also recognize what you are asking for just really doesn’t exist outside of quite literally the greatest seasons of all time.
@plainview8585@ClaireBear0315@Maddog_219 I wish we had old school pitchers duels as well but I do believe most of what we remember was the good not the norm. Bullpen has been really good since Mattson and Ashcraft came up
@Maddog_219@ClaireBear0315@plainview8585 I’d love to see him improve his efficiency, and he hasn’t been perfect as of late. However, still has a WHIP under 1, is averaging a K per inning, and is top 10 in nearly every category. Sounds like you’re asking to see Mitch Keller at the top of the rotation
@plainview8585@Maddog_219 So using your logic what good is any starting pitcher then? I understand what you’re saying, but to complain about IP then move the goalposts when you are told he’s top 10 in his league doesn’t work
@ClaireBear0315@plainview8585@Maddog_219 Again, good luck with that. That’s modern day MLB starting pitching. Not a whole lot of Maddux-types out there. Idk why we can’t just appreciate that we have an elite guy at the top of the rotation. For the record, I’d like more efficiency too, but gotta understand modern mlb
@ClaireBear0315@plainview8585@Maddog_219 Most people view Tarik Skubal as the best pitcher on planet earth (me included). If you’re using him as your baseline, you’d probably be surprised by the comparison. Skenes currently has more IP, a better ERA, and a better ERA+. Really only losing the FIP battle.
@ClaireBear0315@plainview8585@Maddog_219 I’m just really not quite sure what you’re looking for. If he were to improve marginally in pretty much any facet he’d be leading all of baseball in whatever category he improved in. At 23 years old. In his 2nd season.
@ClaireBear0315@plainview8585@Maddog_219 He’s averaging 6.2 IP/outing for the entirety of the season. He has a 2.12 ERA and a .91 WHIP (this is 5th in Major League Baseball). Not really sure what you’re looking for if these numbers aren’t enough for you but I wish you the best in finding it!
Dear Bob,
Thank you for extending the bobbleheads to all fans in attendance. It was an awesome thing and I have to give flowers when they’re due.
That being said, please show that kind of consideration with the on-field product as well. The city and fans deserve better. Thanks
The 2025 Pittsburgh Pirates are batting .184 and that's the lowest AVG for a National League team in their first 16 games of a season since the 1907 Brooklyn Superbas.
