Backing the rookie here and our preseason AL ROY, in a great matchup tonight.

McGonigle has gone over this number in 3 STRAIGHT games now, including the first one in this series. Last night he was 2/5 with an RBI and a run scored.

Now will face Chad Patrick for at least a couple times. Patrick ranks well below average in basically every batted ball metric and also doesn’t strike guys out (5th in K%).

He almost only throws his Cutter, 4S and Sinker and did so last year as well. McGonigle this year has been at his best when facing those pitches…

Cutter: .502 xBA // .849 xSLG
4-Seam: .379 xBA // .790 xSLG
Sinker: .353 xBA // .436 xSLG

McGonigle has never seen him but has been really solid to begin this year when facing righties and this is definitely one he can take advantage of.

Will likely be at the top of this order tonight with plenty of left hand bats right behind him that can do some damage.

Like the Rookie to get the job done for us tonight. He’s over in nearly 60% of games overall this year so far.
