My niece told me today that they taught her in school to grab pencils when they go into a lockdown so they could stab the bad guy. She said it with such normalcy and it makes me want to throw up. I hate that this is the world these innocent children have to live in.

My mom and sister sent me back to school photos of my niece and nephew and I’m literally crying in my office. They are so cute and I hate that they are growing up so fast. I also hate how cruel this world is and I wish I could shelter them from it all.
