Reminder: Law enforcement could have prevented the Capitol Breach with the resources on hand if they had been competently lead

Instead, they
- flashbanged/tear gassed peaceful elements of the crowd
- deployed reinforcements to face off crowd, instead of choke points
- pushed a non-violent man off a staircase
- didn't reinforce where defenses were buckling
- failed to retreat after being outflanked (until they gassed their own line)

All this played out over the course of 1 hour+; the police completely squandered their advantage of superior communication and surveillance

Is journalism a crime in America?

Steve Baker (@TPC4USA) has just pleaded guilty to covering January 6th as a right wing independent journalist

Steve, like many journalists (mostly mainstream affiliated), entered the so-called "restricted area" on Capitol grounds to cover the obviously newsworthy events occurring outside, and followed the crowd into the building after it had been breached

So why was Steve charged, when journalists like Luke Mogelson who climbed through a window near the same time and location as Steve entered the building were not?

Here's three potential reasons:
#1: Steve now writes for the Blaze, but at the time he was independent, publishing writing and video as The Pragmatic Constitutionalist; Mogelson, on the other hand, was writing for The New Yorker magazine

#2: Steve has consistently questioned the mainstream media and political narrative of the Capitol Riot, while Mogelson wrote his piece titled "Among the Insurrectionists"

#3: Steve has broken a number of investigative stories related to January 6th which are highly embarrassing to the government, from the police leadership to the Oath Keepers prosecution to the potential coverups

James Tate Grant, of Cary, has been sentenced to three years in prison for attacking police on January 6th

In the video below, he can be seen in the black hoodie and skull mask leading the initial unprovoked attack on the police guarding the Capitol perimeter

The DOJ threw the book at J6ers by charging them under a different set of laws in a different court

All Capitol doors are equipped with an emergency unlock for fire safety (the instructions are on the sign in the middle)

As to how they got there, these are demonstrators who entered through the Senate Wing Door earlier

If the Capitol was competently defended, the video @MacFarlaneNews shared here would have been the resistance the J6ers faced at every attempted breach

Instead, the first breach of the Capitol (at this door) was practically uncontested by the police

This was a substantial delay at a critical time, when the Capitol had not yet been breached

By-and-large, that's not how Trump supporters made it into the building

But, at the West Terrace Door @timcast references, police did stand aside and allow demonstrators to enter
