🛑 Austin ICE Suspect Was in a Vehicle 🛑

Video has emerged of the suspect in his vehicle. It appears Austin’s DEI-hire police chief was incorrect. He was not on foot. He was in his vehicle. Unfortunately, there is no audio with this clip.

Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis runs APD. The shooting is still the North Austin scene at Anderson Square in the 7000 block of West Anderson Lane, near Research Boulevard and U.S. 183. Local reporting at the scene described a blue Toyota Corolla under an overpass with passenger-side damage and what looked like bullet holes.

APD has said no Austin officer fired, and Texas DPS has said ICE is handling the federal investigation. City hall can brief the cameras. The tape still decides whether the man was walking or sitting behind a wheel.

NEW: Longmont officer fatally shoots man in hostage standoff who was out on bond in a prior case involving the same victim.

A mother reported Dariss M. Yearby was holding her 18-year-old daughter upstairs and threatening to kill her.

Officers found him with his arm around the woman’s neck and one hand in a large bag. He said he had a gun.

He refused commands and an officer shot him. Police later determined he was unarmed.

Yearby was free on bond in a February 2025 case involving the same victim in which he strangled her 15 times over the course of an hour, causing her to lose consciousness.
