As a designer mom I treat each garment with love and care. Each stitch is intricately thought out. I believe that garments should be breathable, timeless and chic. I want you to look your best and live in your dress, to wear it again and again and cherish it. There is something special about cherishing something you have, something that was uniquely handcrafted just for you. If a designer bag or piece of jewelry can have stories and be cherished and become an heirloom, why can’t clothing? Clothing should be able to be carried with you through the years and transcend the many trends. However, most garments are not made to last and it has become so mainstream to dispose of it after the first or second use. This is why I use certain stitching techniques such as French seaming and proper lining. If handled with proper care, your item can last so much longer. So next time you are in the market to buy a dress, think about how it was made, where it was made and who made it. Consider how many units are being produced - are they mass produced? My dresses are for the women who value unique, handcrafted bespoke dresses and I am proud to say all my items are designed and made by me in the USA. My brand is for women who place value in small businesses. My name is Jade Seralde, and I am an independent fashion designer who personally creates all my pieces by hand. I was recently invited to be featured on very reputable magazine for a designer showcase. However, one of the struggles of a small business owner is prioritizing where to put my resources and for me that is selectively choosing and buying lovely prints for my dresses that I design for all you lovelies. I am absolutely flattered by the offer and am happy to see that my designs are being noticed.

When you are a small business every sale increases the length of my road. This is organic growth for me. Next time you are in the market for a new dress, do take a moment to consider where and how it is produced and who is making it.

This is why I love what I do. I have the opportunity to design unique dresses for women who value slow fashion, who value being unique, who place value in handcrafted pieces. Each dress is made to order. I may only make one or two dresses in a certain print, which means that I produce dresses in small batch quantities which encourages buying quality pieces made to last.
