I speak for everyone when I say there should be a turn off button for Ai, like I should be able to disable and block all Ai related content from my device.
Not xikers related, but I wanted to share this because I like this perspective.
👤: Have you seen Choi San’s ceremonial first kick-off?
Honestly, his kick wasn’t exactly great. But personally, I didn’t find it embarrassing at all. As someone who loves football, what I noticed first wasn’t whether he kicked the ball well or not.
What I saw was how much effort someone who isn’t used to kicking a football had put into preparing for that moment and trying his best to do it properly. And most importantly, a ceremonial kick-off isn’t a place to judge someone’s football skills.
If what you wanted to see was a perfect kick, then a professional footballer like Ki Sung-yueng should’ve taken it. To me, a ceremonial kick-off is about starting the match together and creating a meaningful memory for the person taking part and everyone who came to the stadium.
Yet because his kick looked a little awkward despite all the preparation he had put into it, people still left mocking comments like, “Have you never played football before?”
Sometimes, it feels like we live in a society where it’s easier to find one thing someone is worse at than us than to recognize how much effort they’ve put into something.
So what if the kick wasn’t perfect?
Even though football isn’t something he’s familiar with, he was given the opportunity to take the ceremonial kick-off at such a major match. He understood the significance of that moment, prepared seriously, and did his best in front of thousands of people.
To me, that is what a ceremonial kick-off should be about.
For those of you who watched the video, what did you notice first about Choi San’s kick-off? His awkward posture?
Or the person behind it who genuinely put in the effort to prepare?
