Student Pilot Navigates Unexpected Weather Diversion to Sheltair FBO: I, a student pilot, am in the middle of a cross-country flight for my private pilot training. Due to a thunderstorm warning at my home airport, my flight instructor has diverted me to another airport, Sheltair FBO, where I'll have to wait out the storm. I'm learning to navigate the FBO and deal with unexpected weather challenges, which is an important part of aviation. Welcome to Mission Aire! I'm James Disciple-Johnson, a student pilot learning to fly so I can fly missionaries around the world. Toward the end of my student private pilot training, I'm required to do a three airport cross-country flight and I'm in the middle of a four-hour, three-airport flight right now. My flight instructor is back at my home airport where there's a convective warning and I can't land there, so he's diverted me here and there's a thunderstorm warning in yellow over this airport. So I'm supposed to find a place to park my plane and wait out a storm that's developing just west of this airport that will prevent me from flying out for the next two or three hours, or even longer. So far, all my interactions with airplanes have been at the private hangar of the flight school and today I'm gonna have to learn how to use an FBO or fixed-based operator. The FBO at this airport is called Sheltair and there's private jets parked here as well as the old general aviation airplanes, like what I fly. And so I'm checking out this plane as I walk by. It's all a pretty cool experience, but I don't know how much it's gonna cost me just to walk in this place. This here is Sheltair and that's where I'll hang out for the next couple hours because of the weather. This is unfortunately one of the parts of aviation that happens and you can't control: weather. And it's gonna make you divert, it's gonna make you change your plans, and you have to be ready for it. FBOs like Sheltair are the place where airplanes and their crews hang out while-
Student Pilot's Solo Flight in a Vintage Cessna 172: flying for Jesus as a student missionary pilot, I take you along on an exciting solo flight in a 50-year-old Cessna 172 aircraft. It's a thrilling journey that showcases the challenges and exhilaration of flying as a student pilot!!! Welcome to this exciting student pilot solo three airport flight. You are strapping in with me as a student pilot. I'm not a certified instructor and this is not an instructional video, but I do hope you enjoy some of the process of starting up and flying this Cessna 172 that's 50 years old. Well, good afternoon and welcome to one-three Foxtrot. Well, welcome to the flight. Put your seatbelt on. I am your pilot in command, James, and today we'll be flying from- Radio playing Clear ground November executive to Cecil going to Oklahoma. Going the FBO. CUTTING OFF MOTORCYCLE CLUB PATCHES: The Meaning Behind Motorcycle Club Patches and Brotherhood. We talk about the significance of motorcycle club patches and how they represent the brotherhood and memories of the club. We discuss the process of earning and sewing on patches, and the difficulty of cutting them off. We also introduce the Disciple Christian Motorcycle Club, which is focused on building men of God, preaching the gospel, and saving souls, all while riding motorcycles. Everybody that's been in a motorcycle club knows a thing or two about cutting off patches. There's so many miles and stories behind every stitch. Mile after mile, bar to bar with your brothers, building brotherhood. That's how you earn the patches. And when you sew them on, you never, ever want to take them off. See, brotherhood is not about patches. Brotherhood is about brotherhood. But the patches represent brotherhood. They represent memories and men, and the stitches that hold them on are like arteries through which the blood of brotherhood flows. And cutting those stitches, man, I've done it a bunch of times over the years, and it's hard to do. What patch are you cutting off of him? That's a prospect tab. Why? 'Cause he is now a full patch. He is a brother. At Disciple Christian Motorcycle Club, we're not just building brotherhood, we're building men of God, men who will pray for anyone, go to any lengths to get people saved. Check out more at https://t.co/jjBsZ3fpkh. Preach the gospel, get them saved, get them baptized, ride motorcycles. https://t.co/jjBsZ3fpkh.
Spreading Joy and Positivity Through Kind Words: We talk about the importance of being nice to people and spreading joy, rather than gossiping or speaking negatively about others. We discuss how when we spread love, encouragement, and comfort, it comes back to us, either from others or from Jesus. The Lord loves it when people go around speaking life to each other, and it can lead to health and wealth according to the Bible. If you're nice to people, they come back. And the real product that we're selling isn't that we hate people that think differently than we do or have a different gender identity than we do. The real product that we're selling is joy. And if you ain't got the joy, it's because you don't spread the joy. And when you walk along with the grinder of the gossip, you just bring a bunch of nasty on you. And everybody starts to not trust you. Yeah, I can't talk to him because when I talk to him, he'd be talking about them. I know when he's over there talking to me, he's talking about me. So I like to talk about Jesus or you, whoever's in front of me. We're going to talk about you and Jesus. But we're not going to talk about the guy over there. And so when we spread the love, the edify, absorb, encourage, and comfort, it comes back to us. And if this person don't give it back to me, somebody else will. If they don't give it back to me, Jesus will. The Lord just loves it when people go around speaking life to each other. It says that it will be health and wealth in Proverbs. You ever notice that? Health to your belly. You wonder why you have belly problems. Stop talking bad about people.
Student Pilot Lands Plane at Night During Windy Conditions: We talk about our nighttime cross-country flight as a student pilot. We flew to an airport 70 nautical miles away, landed, and came back to our home airport. We describe the landing process, including dealing with a gusty wind and a crosswind, and discuss our goal of learning to fly in order to transport Christian missionaries to 30 countries.
Discovering a Powerful, Spirit-Filled Church in an Airplane Hangar!! We found an awesome church near where I fly airplanes. The church is located in an airplane hangar next door to where I'm learning to fly. It's a Holy Ghost, fire-inspired church, and the preacher preaches the word of God with power and authority!! Armella and I found an awesome church today. In fact, it's right near where I fly airplanes. And when I was in the hangar with the other pilots, we heard this church rocking out 'cause it's in an airplane hangar right next door to where I'm learning to fly. So we came to check it out and man, is it a Holy Ghost, fire-inspired church. And the preacher preaches the word of God with power and authority.
Spreading the Gospel Through Travels and Marriage: We talk about the crazy experiences Armella and I have had while traveling to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ across the country and around the globe. We reminisce about old videos of us, like crossing a ferry on a long motorcycle trip, and trying on cowboy hats at the Four Corners Spring Fling. Our marriage is founded on the concept of helping to heal people and bring them to meet Christ, and we're always looking for beautiful natural spaces to relax and enjoy God's creation to recharge and continue our work with those who are suffering. What a lot of crazy experiences Armella and I have had over the years as we have traveled to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ across the country, and around the globe. These old videos of us, this one we're crossing on a ferry on a long motorcycle trip. Just watching these and remembering the journey, the struggles, the trials, and the fun times like this. Four Corners Spring Fling, and of course, we're getting to try on some cowboy hats. That doesn't fit. My wife has been an amazing, selfless travel partner, and helped me along the way. That's Hillbilly. Let's try this one. Yeah, that's good. On our journey, we've seen the most beautiful, romantic places together. So today, we're at the 400-year-old Angel Oak, here near Charleston, South Carolina, and you can see it's reached all the way to the ground all the way around, just an incredibly beautiful, ancient tree here in South Carolina. The Angel Oak, near Charleston. Our marriage is founded on the concept that we're both trying to help heal people, bring them to meet Christ, and make their lives better. Hey, sitting on a rock, at a river, with a bunch of disciples who are all back there, and a volcano ahead of us that you can't see 'cause it's covered in fog and clouds. 'Cause we both are exposed to the emotional trauma and pain of the world as we seek to help, we're always looking for beautiful natural spaces to relax and enjoy God's creation. In these moments, we're always looking for the inspiration and the emotional handwashing that it takes to go back and keep on working with those who are suffering. I'm thankful for a wife who prioritizes serving the Lord and serving God's people. I love you, Armella Harmony Shivers. Armella Harmony Shivers
Completing My First 8 Night Landings in a Cessna 172!!! I talk about my first eight night landings in a 1970s Cessna 172 aircraft. As a student pilot with 108 landings and 40 hours of flight experience, I'm nervous but ready to complete my night currency landings. I describe the takeoff, flying the traffic pattern, and the challenges of landing the plane in the dark. Despite my initial fears, I successfully complete eight full-stop night landings and am excited to do it again. Come on with me as we do my first eight night landings in a 1970s Cessna 172. That's right, I'm gonna take this 50-year-old airplane, do my run up checks, and get in the air. We are going, okay, beautiful. Primary i- is in an unlocked autopilot, so where else am I here? So we're ready to go mixture. I've been a student pilot for all of six weeks. I've done 108 landings and 40 hours of flight under my belt, and it's time to do my night currency landings. These are gonna be full stop landings at night, an hour after sunset. Operating the airplane in the dark is absolutely terrifying. I can't believe I'm doing this, but I'm ready to go. Take off power applied. Wheels on the floor, stay on the center line. PCP is in the green, airspeed alive. I'm learning to fly for one reason. I'm a missionary, and I wanna be able to transport missionaries from the Southeast all over the world. V1 rotate. And just like that, we lift off from the runway and climb away into the darkness of the night. And boy did it feel like a black hole to me, but the traffic pattern goes fast and you don't have time to think about it before it's time to land. This is my first nighttime landing and the lights are set to the brightest setting, so my flight instructor clicked the mic three times to set the lights a little bit lower for me. Super freaking low. It says we're high, but I feel super low. Those four lights to the left of the runway are called the PAPI or precision approach indicator, and they're supposed to be two red and two white. Four white is definitely too high. And power off. Now here's the runway, we're gonna start our little round out here. At this point I gotta pull the nose back and set the airplane down as slowly and gently as possible. And after that beautiful landing, I had to do seven more. That's right, we had to taxi back, take off again, and land in the darkness a total of eight times. You can see an airplane waiting there at the threshold flashing with its white lights. Yeah, it was a great flight. There it is. There's the runways. There, there it all is. That's what it was. It was cool. I loved it. Do, I'm gonna do it again.
Good morning. Flagler Tower Skyhawk six three one three foxtrot student pilot first solo holding short of Alpha. Ready to take off on two four. First time. Two eighty-six left traffic. Full takeoff power heals on the ground. Tower bonanza thirty-six, if you can- Maintain center line. approach please. Ts and Ps are good. Looking for fifty-five on the rollout. And rotate. Stay over the runway, James. And we're maintaining the runway. Looking for Vy. We are at Vy seventy-six. Little right rudder. Skyhawk one three Foxtrot, follow traffic in front of you. One three Foxtrot, follow the traffic in front of us. Two five. So get back on runway heading here. All right, we got a positive rate of climb at seven hundred feet a minute. There's three hundred fifty on altitude. Everything is looking good.
FIRST SOLO FLIGHT!!! We talk about the my experience of going through pilot training and preparing for my first solo flight. I’m wearing aviator shades loaned by a retired Air Force pilot, who is helping me prepare by going through a military-style debrief of my mistakes. The narrator's certified flight instructor, Jacob, is confident they are ready for their first solo flight and will be sending them off shortly!! Today I'm wearing these cool aviator shades because they were loaned to me by the retired Colonel Air Force pilot sitting next to me. And he is taking me through my checkride to prepare me for my first solo flight. And they sat me down in a military style debrief and went through every mistake I made in the air because they want to make sure that I am safe. I've been pilot training for about a month and a half in this flight school and I am ready to take my very first solo flight. You're good, you're good where you are. I gotta take your logbook. I gotta do a little bit of paperwork and you'll be on your way. My certified flight instructor Jacob over there is ready to send me on my first solo. He's spent the last month and a half training me. He's done a great job and I am trying to calm my nerves. Welcome to this exciting episode of Old School Values. I am your pilot in command James, along with pilot monitoring, uh, how have I forgotten your name right now, bro? Jacob. A little nervous? When we got back to the hangar, Jacob jumped out of the plane and endorsed my logbook for me to fly solo while I tried to calm my nerves. I'll be taking off shortly here in one three Foxtrot to do my first three loops through the traffic pattern, landing the airplane three times. And Jacob here says I'm going to do great. Yes, you will. And then just like that, he closed the door and walked away. And with-
Christian Leadership: The Call to Serve! We talk about how in Christian leadership, serving is central. Jesus teaches that true greatness comes through serving others, not through exercising dominion or authority over them. As leaders, we must have a servant's heart, following the example of Jesus who came not to be served but to serve and give His life for many. In leadership, and especially in Christian leadership, serving is central. I wanna read you this scripture from Matthew Chapter 20, where a couple of the disciples' mother comes up and asks Jesus if her sons can be leaders in the Kingdom of God. And what He promises them instead is to drink His cup and to suffer like He suffered. And then, the rest of the disciples heard it, and they were indignant and angry with these two disciples. And Jesus... Listen to this in Matthew Chapter 20 Verse 25. "Jesus called them unto Him and said, 'You know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.'" Jesus is talking about people who like to have power for power's sake, and to hold other people under their thumb, micromanage. Verse 26, "But it shall not be so among you." That's among Christian leaders. "It shall not be so among you, whosoever will be great among you must be your servant. And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant. Even as the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many." Jesus didn't come to have people bow down before Him and be in a position of authority. He came to serve people. Jesus had compassion on the people in the crowds. If we're gonna be leaders, we have to operate out of a servant's heart with
Sergeant Puts Some RESPECT on Our Flag!!! We talk about a United States Color Guard standing at attention at the White House, waiting for the president. A sergeant comes out and ensures the flag is furled properly, showing respect for the stars and stripes that represent the blood of those who died to give us freedom. Watch this sergeant put some respect on our flag. A United States Color Guard was standing attention at the White House, waiting for the president to come out when his sergeant came out and made sure that flag was furled properly. The stars, the stripes, it's a beautiful flag. Thank you, Sergeant. I don't know who you are, but well done. Put some respect on our flag. Our country, the United States, is a symbol of freedom and prosperity all around the world. And those red stripes represent the blood of those who died to give us that freedom.
Bible Tells When PROPHECY Will Cease! The Enduring Nature of Love: We discuss the passage from 1 Corinthians 13, where the Apostle Paul talks about how love never fails, but prophecies, tongues, and knowledge will all eventually pass away. He explains that our current understanding is limited, but when we are face to face with God, our partial knowledge will be complete. ……………. 1 Corinthians 13, 8 and 10. Let's read it real quickly, and then we'll come back and talk about it. Charity, now this is, by the way, I just wanna lay out the context here. This is the chapter about love, as they like to say. This is often read at, you know, weddings and that kind of thing. So charity never fails, or it might say love in some translation. Love never fails, but whether there are prophecies, they shall fail. Whether there are tongues, they shall cease. Whether there is knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. For now we see through a glass darkly, but then face to face, now I know in part, but then I shall know even as I am also known. Now, I want to talk about what this means here. This is the Apostle Paul saying that right now he's on earth, and so he has to use gifts of the Holy Spirit like prophecy and tongue and knowledge. What is knowledge? The word in Greek here is gnosis. So when everything that can be known, when the whole human scope of history, when the ball of wax, when the earth itself passes away, when there's knowledge, it will vanish away. And so it's pointing out that when everything that we know about is gone, that's when tongues and prophecies will cease because now we know in part, we're not face to face with God.
The Spiritual Gift of the Word of Knowledge and the opposite Danger of Christian Witchcraft: We discuss the spiritual gift of the word of knowledge, which is the supernatural knowledge of past events that comes from the joy in one's heart. This allows someone to prophesy over a stranger, telling them things about their life that they couldn't have known naturally. However, we warn against the practice of 'Christian witchcraft', where someone is fed information about a person through a hidden microphone and then pretends to have a word of knowledge, which is soulish manipulation and should be avoided. ….. word of knowledge, the same thing, supernatural knowledge of past events that's due to joy that you have in your heart, that you're able to actually see into the past on somebody. This is often referred to as reading the mail. So you walk up to somebody and say, you know, I just feel like for goodness sake that in the last week you've been praying about your sick mother and the Lord wants you to know that your mother's going to be healed or the Lord wants you to know he's going to be with you through this, whatever it may be. And you don't know them from Adam and you just have a feeling in your heart like, oh my God, their mother is sick and they've been praying for her. And you just go up and prophesy it over them. And that's a word of knowledge. Jesus did it with the woman at the well. There's many biblical examples of Jesus receiving a word of knowledge, supernatural knowledge about somebody's past. And again, God does this to grab people's attention and shake them up and reconcile them to himself. And I want to point out again that the word of knowledge is a gift of the Holy Spirit. If you, at Christian witchcraft is where you, you know, let's just say you have a radio in your ear and somebody tells you the guy in the black suit, you know, his mother is sick. And then you run up to him, sir, I feel, oh, oh, oh, sir, I feel like your mother is sick. Yeah, tell me it's cancer. I feel like, is it cancer, sir? Is it, that's soulish manipulation and that's Christian witchcraft. If you're being fed some information about somebody on a secret microphone and then pretending to prophesy over them a word of knowledge, that is Christian witchcraft. That's soulish manipulation. Don't do that.
