Ex-military. "Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” Benjamin Franklin Voted

⚠️ Exposed ⚠️
Another mass theft in Kiev that systematically stole at least 4.47 billion dollars of your money, in only a two and a half year period
Remember, this money could have been spent in your city, town, street-
Instead its flushed down the Golden toilet called Ukraine
Getting the Western Powers to pull their embassies and personnel out of Kiev is probably for the Russians an objective in itself.
The Russian calculus probably is that Zelensky and the other key institutions of Ukraine would be very unwilling to leave Kiev.
Quitting Kiev might look like abandoning the capital, making it in effect a front line city.
It would also increase the physical distance between Zelensky and eastern Ukraine, where the battles are taking place. These it should be stressed are going badly, with Konstantynovka weeks from falling, and the Russians pressing hard on the two remaining important Donbas cities still under Ukrainian control, Slovyansk and Kramatorsk.
It is not difficult to see how the Russians might calculate that in such a situation Zelensky might worry that if he were to leave Kiev eastern Ukraine might slip out of his control.
Beyond that there is the question of the underlying stability of Zelensky's own position.
The Russians have been disputing his right to remain Ukraine's leader since May 2024. Though Zelensky is not being challenged in that way from within Ukraine itself, it is hardly a secret that Trump doesn't like him, and that his leadership is being criticised from within Ukraine itself.
It is easy to see how the Russians might think in light of all that, that Zelensky might worry that if he were to leave Kiev his authority would weaken, as the President who had fled his country's capital at a moment of danger and crisis.
However if Zelensky were to stay in Kiev after the Westerners left he would become isolated from the West.
The reality, as anyone who follows the situation in Kiev at all closely can see, is that Westerners (the diplomats, the personnel of the Western funded NGOs, the military advisers fulfilling advice and liaison functions, the officials who administer the aid packages etc) today form a key part of Ukraine's system of government. Severing the link between this structure and Zelensky would inevitably weaken the system as a whole.
Lastly, if travel in and out of Kiev becomes dangerous, with the Russians able to threaten the railway and road links (not impossible) then Zelensky's isolation from the West and the outside world were he to choose to stay in Kiev after the Westerners left would become greater still.
Nonetheless, despite this, my guess is that the Russians, for the reasons I set out above, still expect Zelensky to choose to stay in Kiev, even if the Westerners leave. After all, that is what he did in 2022, and what other leaders who have found themselves in Zelensky's position, have in the past also chosen to do.
If the Russians act on their current threats then I expect the Westerners to leave.
In February 2022 they pulled their embassies out of Kiev to protect their diplomats. To the best of my recollection they only returned in April 2022, after the Russians withdrew.
Notwithstanding all the defiant rhetoric, I don't believe Western governments would oblige their diplomats and other nationals to stay in Kiev if the situation there were to become dangerous.
For the record, my own view is that this has been the Russian plan all along.
The Russians have waited until the situation on the battlefields had sufficiently matured, and after stockpiles of the necessary weapons systems (Oreshniks, Kinzhals, Iskanders etc) had reached the necessary levels, before they implemented it.
Starobelsk undoubtedly hardened views, but even without that awful incident, the situation we are now seeing play out would at some point have happened anyway.

THE WEST FOOLISHLY EXTENDED THE WAR IN UKRAINE THAT COULD NEVER BE WON—AND OUR NATIONAL SECURITY IS SUFFERING AS A RESULT OF THE DEPLETION OF OUR MILITARY ARSONELS. 🚨
Scott Ritter (@RealScottRitter) joins me to expose how Washington and London blocked an early peace deal in early 2022 when the West could have exited the war without any real damage and Ukraine could have saved hundreds of thousands of its citizens' lives, and major portions of its territory.
Some in Ukraine recognized the danger early on, but Western intervention convinced Zelensky to keep fighting against sober military judgment: "The Ukrainians saw that (Russia's initial invasion) was a death sentence. So they went to the negotiating table... But then what happened is the United States and Great Britain intervened and told the Ukrainians, you can't accept this peace deal," so the war pointlessly continued.
While Russia stabilized its economy under withering western sanctions and built a multipolar coalition with China, the West drained its own resources trying to sustain a war of attrition, especially in interceptor missiles and long range offensive missiles.
Between the proxy conflict in Europe and the escalating Iran war, American military and economic reserves are hitting rock bottom while the Middle East conflict continues to compound the crisis.

The EU has said it will maintain its diplomatic presence in Kiev unchanged, despite Russia's warnings. Well, apparently they've got diplomats to spare and need to trim the headcount.
81 years ago the Soviet Union, together with their American and other allies, defeated the scourge of Nazi Germany. Today many in the West seek to forget the role played by the Soviet Union and the sacrifices made to achieve this victory. It is essential that we never forget our shared history, and the lessons derived there of. Never forget, and never forgive.
On Thursday night I had the honor of attending the Victory Day celebration at the Russian Embassy. The Russian officers of the Defense Attaché Office are some of the finest men I ever met. It is good that we are friends.
Happy Victory Day!
The Economist reported: "The beginning of the end of Putin"... in 2012. The years pass by, and the headlines remain the same. Such propaganda communicates that the rival's leader is illegitimate, and we just need a little bit more patience for pressure tactics to work. No need to discuss competing security interests or engage in real diplomacy...
President Trump likely doesn't know (and maybe doesn't care) that he just admitted in a TruthSocial post that he lied to the American ppl and world about why he chose to start this war w Iran on 28 February. We should not let this go.
In this post, he boasts that *none* of the reprocessed nuclear material allegedly buried in the June 2025 attack, has been moved since Operation Midnight Hammer. It has been under "exacting Satellite Surveillance" he boasted, so its definitely still there. He even went so far as to say we'll help them "dig up and remove" said material. One big problem with that boast:
He and his chosen "negotiator" Steve Witkoff sounded the alarm from every TV and Cable outlet in America that Iran was "about a week" away from a nuclear bomb, and therefore posed "an imminent threat."
That was a known lie.
We, therefore, didn't merely violate the U.S. Constitution by going to full-on war without Congressional declaration or authorization, didn't just violate American law, didn't even primarily violate international law: The President of the United States knowingly took America to war - sacrificing the lives of at least 13 Americans and the wounding of nearly 400 others - based on pure fraud and a desire to seize the oil from another country.
To add insult to injury, he also got us into a war we couldn't win. At the moment we have a ceasefire, but an end-of-war negotiated settlement is far from done; this could turn back hot again at any moment.
This is an affront to the American ppl and shows with what contempt the President has for the lives of our Service Members. That's the truth, folks, from the President's own postings, you have it black and white.
You bombed Russian refineries at a time when Europe is already facing oil shortages, driving up fuel prices for the same European taxpayers whose money you’re stealing. And now you want our sympathy? Fuck you, @ZelenskyyUa. And fuck your corrupt country too. You deserve everything Russia does to you.
Signed,
A European taxpayer.
