@Victoria_S0607 This is so true. I have come to know so many people that lost the joy in what they were studying because of rigid structure and the loss of creative freedom.
I wanted to learn more about writing. Instead the fun was squeezed out of it.
Style and format seemed to matter more than creativity and finding your own voice.
Eventually, I walked away.
Have you ever had something you loved turn into something you dreaded?

I found journalism in HS and eventually studied it in college.
But along the way, I found that the ideal and the reality of it weren't the same.
I drifted away from writing. It would take years to come back.
Have you ever changed direction?

In middle school, I wrote short stories. In high school, I wrote longer ones and created detailed D&D adventures.
I had no idea where it would eventually lead.
Were you a creative kid, too?

@AiexaAlgo@freeboostpromo Right there with you. I did expand my paperback to allow for outside purchases, but the $$ I would make from that is minimal.
@TessaBook_455 I actually started writing some ideas over COVID, but really started in earnest in late 2023. I had completed initial writing in March of 26 and then went through edits, Beta readers, and ARC readers, publishing in July. This took long mainly due to the amount of research I had.
@Anthonybookedit This was for my novel I published in July,The Toll of the Forgotten. For my current work in progress I am studying 1985 Des Moines Iowa.
