I’m so proud to Chair the @BT1DUK Scientific Advisory Council with a group of amazing people, helping to give early career researchers a voice and advocate for research for that benefits people living with, or at risk of, Type 1 diabetes 🔬
Research breakthroughs wouldn’t be possible without our network of professional and lived-experience volunteers.🔬
Thanks to the Scientific Advisory Council (SAC) – our community of scientific and healthcare professionals, and lived-experience members – we’re able to make informed, confident research decisions, and better support the UK’s type 1 diabetes (T1D) community.
SAC members like Lewis, Renuka, James, and Guy lend their time and expertise towards a shared goal; improve the lives of people living with T1D.💙

Researchers at the University of Birmingham are recruiting people living with type 1 diabetes, or parents/guardians of children under 16 with type 1, to a study exploring views on potential type 1 treatments.
A great article from @Dr_LaurenQuinn@RenukaDias@elsadiabetes - Hopefully we can find ways to alleviate some of the experiences parents/carers/guardians experience in choosing to screen their children for risk of Type 1 diabetes.
