This weekend marks the 40th annual Black Ships Festival organized by the Japan-America Society of RI. This event celebrates Japanese culture and recognizes the Treaty of Kanagawa -the first treaty between the United States and Japan negotiated by RIer Commodore Matthew Perry.

Over the weekend, JSB visited the Japanese Cultural Marketplace Fair in Bristol, Rhode Island as part of the annual Black Ships Festival organized by @JASRhodeIsland
