Meet Priya Adhikari, Nepal’s first woman helicopter captain who flew nearly 100 rescue missions in six days

She has been leading rescue missions across the flood-torn Himalayan region, becoming a beacon of hope and rewriting the limits of high-altitude rescue.

She described the operation as one of the most challenging she has experienced, even more difficult to navigate than the 2015 Nepal earthquake because so much of the destruction was concentrated in a narrow valley.

“Most of us are so exhausted because of all the flights we've been doing. We've been trained for this,” she said.

She kept flying when exhaustion and danger could have stopped her. And for that courage and sacrifice, we salute her.

A daughter is desperately searching for her parents after Nepal’s devastating floods.

Tanvi says her parents, Venkatram Annamdevara and Anagha Annamdevara, were on the Kailash Yatra with Richa Tours, part of a 67-member group.

Their last known contact was 8:27 AM on August 26, near the Immigration Centre/Friendship Bridge, now reportedly destroyed. The family has been unable to contact the group since the floods.

If anyone has information about the Richa Tours group, please come forward. Help bring these families home.
