@klk723102 @ABCPolitics No, it’s about shipping AZ vaccine in US stockpile to other countries, since the vaccine does not have an EUA here and won’t be used in the US.
@ddale8 Cognitive dissonance: “Needing” three AR-15s and a bunch of handguns for “self-defense,” but giving yourself coronary heart disease by eating too much red meat.
@mkraju DC residents need actual voting representation in Congress. That means either statehood or retrocession to Maryland, the way that the SW portion was retroceded to VA in 1847.
@MollyJongFast Things they can pry out of my cold, dead hands: two spaces after a period, the Oxford comma, and (apropos of nothing) Daylight Saving Time.
@Jademona1@ABCPolitics Alone, debt forgivness does nothing to control tuition costs. We need comprehensive higher ed reform. If we make the first $50k debt free for students, what’s to stop institutions from increasing tuition even more? And what’s to stop students from borrowing more?
@ewarren Sen. Warren, what is your plan to rein in tuition costs? Do you have one? How do we prevent students from loading up on debt to attend non-selective schools with low job placement rates? Or are we just going to give those institutions a taxpayer funded windfall?
@dmacneo1 @kyle_boutilier @SenWarren So why not cancel auto loans and credit card debt as well? Because this argument, by itself, is silly. It’s about comprehensive higher ed cost reform, not just debt load.
@ewarren We need price controls if this is going to be a long-term solution. Otherwise it’s an indirect handout to higher ed. Where’s the incentive for institutions to charge less for tuition? Debt forgiveness is a half-assed measure at best.
@tedlieu Do we want guns or butter? We can’t have every rep fighting to keep every local base open and still push for an increase is civilian spending on much needed social programs, infrastructure, etc.
@DavidCruzNJ Because at its core libertarianism has almost always meant “My rights are mine and your rights are up for negotiation.” Add to that white evangelicalism and you have a potent ideological force bent on shaping the nation to their theo-political ends.
@willferg14@ryanstruyk Sorry, but he’s one of the world’s best ID docs and you’re a chiropractor. I’m not sure you of all people have any standing to call him a fraud.
@dinosaurboymom@wxyzdetroit Vax is not 100% effective. With high levels of community transmission, that means increased risk even for vaccinated people. Plus, we are not even close to herd immunity yet, with very transmissible variants circulating.
