I strongly condemn PTI led and inspired arson and plunder on state buildings and properties, particularly on military residences, assets and symbols, and demand strictest punishment under the law of the land. But I would also call upon the government to ensure that due process, and constitutional provisions are ensured. And caution against forced political engineering, disproportionate use force especially against media, political leaders and against women and youth. Safeguarding and upholding rule of law is as important as standing up for our institutions.
The entire #PTI is falling like a house of cards. Faces popping up in press conferences reciting rehearsed scripts and bowing down and out. Real political movements don’t unravel like this, #PPP faced persecution by military dictators, leadership put behind bars, many cowardly uncles left #ShaheedBB, yet many workers and leaders stood ground, stood with the cause and with the leadership, faced torture, jails, whippings but their commitment was unwavering and their struggle peaceful, objective and political. I am proud to be the daughter of one such brave political worker who did not bow to pressure. #QaimAliShah #ShaheedBenazirBhutto

#DrSeeminJamali was the centre of gravity in the one of the largest public sector hospitals in the city for years. As Executive Director Jinnah Hospital, she gave a personal touch to the hospital, and personal attention and care to thousands of patients. I really missed her after her retirement but am heartbroken to learn that she passed away last night fighting a deadly disease. My thoughts and prayers are for the family she leaves behind. I am sure she’s resting in eternal peace in the heavens with all the prayers she won over the years with her care work. #JPMC #JSMU
My thoughts and prayers are for the over 280 innocent victims that fell prey to a horrifying train accident in #Odisha in #India. #Pakistan too is susceptible to transport hazards and accidents whether road, rail, air, mining or during oil and gas transportation. Accident investigations whether in Pakistan, or the region need to be independent, transparent and lead to better safety measures to protect citizens. I have been pushing for a law for independent investigations for years now and will continue to do so until it’s done. Governments often delay, or keep citizens in the dark about the cause of accidents which keep institutions from paying attention to safety measures and endanger our lives further. Therefore laws must ensure that investigations are independent, transparent and accessible and are followed by recommendations that lead to better safeguards and protection. #Accidentinvestigations
