Well, it’s a new year and again, I’ll be putting together a list of mini reviews of shows, movies and anime that I’ve watched in 2023
So, let’s kick off the first thing I watched this year.
@Carnage4Life I think Matt Damon mentioned in the same show. Good Will Hunting made most of its money from DVD sales. Without that revenue stream and revenue from streaming being an uncertain quantity, studios are just resorting to the old established ideas for their profits.
@Carnage4Life Nintendo wise, Switch is old, abt to be replaced and no noteworthy games were released for the platform.
AAA gaming wise, barring a few titles, all feel the same. Either some multiplayer hero shooter thing or some mediocre open-world game, all riddled with microtransactions.
@visakanv They’ll prob do a Tony Stark variant who couldn’t save the people he wanted post Sokovia and goes extreme as Dr. Doom. Which is the only way this casting makes sense.(besides desperation of course)
Otherwise, Cillian Murphy, Mads Mikkelsen or Alexander Skarsgard could nail Doom.
@Carnage4Life The issue with Galaxy Watch Ultra isn’t that it copied the AW Ultra. It’s that it’s ugly as sin compared to the cheaper, elegant looking (for a smatwatch) Galaxy Watches
@Carnage4Life Other game studios saw ballooning costs in the pursuit of chasing trends and cutting edge tech, but said games weren’t fun and riddled with microtransactions. Nintendo’s games look less impressive, but they are fucking fun to play. Also helps to have great IP.
It's kind of crazy how the US thinks of itself as free-market capitalist but then you dive into an industry and find it highly regulated and in bed with a de facto cartel
Car dealership cartel, real estate agent cartel, telecom cartel, alcohol cartel, etc
@RaunaqMangottil Can’t say abt the billboard. But yeah, anime has been becoming popular over the years.
A lot of Tamil anime memes, I’m seeing a lot of Naruto, JJK T-shirts. I saw a reel few months back where Vinayagar was accompanied by Naruto and Sasuke😂. This was in Theni apparently.
@Carnage4Life 1. As much as I love Fury Road, it wasn’t a box office juggernaut. Expecting Furiosa to be successful was a bit much.
2. For all the weirdness in recent times, people still like Will Smith and they like Bad Boys. He’s still one of the few you can consider a star in Hollywood.
@Darren_Mooney JP: So I would like to full creative control…
MCU: Sorry JP, no can do with the X-Men. We can give you full creative control on some C-lister once you’ve done this for us though.
I’m honestly surprised Jordan even considered this if the rumors are true.
i think i should learn something from Rahul Gandhi bc imagine getting trolled for 10 years straight and not giving up? I cry when I receive one negative feedback but this dude? god bless him and his self esteem
@Darren_Mooney True. But Hit Man is a Netflix movie. They have no incentive to release a movie of theirs in theatres, other than for Oscars consideration. They’d rather you pay for their service and watch it at home.
@_swanand They’re all part of the branding. Think of it as less of a movie and more of a “90 minute Ryan Reynolds & his businesses ad”. Watch the below video if you have the time

@Carnage4Life Since when has Apple ever been at the forefront of this stuff? They’ve always taken a “Wait, watch and polish” approach. If all these AI tools fuck up, they can just pull out the “We care for your privacy, so we’ll bring an AI that will be security focused in due time”
