“If you’re not at the table, there is no one to give that different opinion...beyond admissions we need to be on committees with people making it through the pipeline to ensure those voices not being heard [are included]." -- @JBCraddock
Dr. @latinoactivist asks: How to avoid burnout from the invisible labor of #BIPOC faculty? Dr. @JBCraddock shares the importance of setting boundaries (eg. emails before 5); @drconservejr shares how focus and prioritization is key.
On Q re: who does the labor of decolonizing? "You have to work in your group first, to create the language and guidelines; then bridge your interests with other people's interests: 'Together we can make a difference in the system.' It can’t just be at one level." @JBCraddock
"To bring in #BIPOC faculty we need to reach out to individuals, and where there are people of color. If you're really trying to diversify faculty sometimes you have to reach out directly...if there are students that are coming up...reach out."

@RanaMcRey@American_Girl Hello @American_Girl, @RanaMcRey is correct. I have seen #86, and she is one of the dolls to which I was referring. She is not brown skinned, as stated on the website she has “tan skin.” Brown skin would be like doll #85 or #67 with a skin tone of 30 or 35.
Today we witnessed #HerStory! Although this is a joyful moment, I want to recognize that Black women are making HerStory Every Day! Thus my celebration isn’t only for @KamalaHarris, But for every Black women who Dares2Dream, Break Barriers & Achieve their Most Challenging Goals!
