A lot of people donโt know this, but I see my street interview series as more than just nightlife videos, I see it as an archive of LGBTQ nightlife history.
Years from now, when people go back and watch these interviews, I want them to be able to feel what it was like for so many different people to live the lifestyle we live. I want them to see the joy, the freedom, the messiness, the friendships, the love, the lessons, and the moments that made this era what it was.
Thatโs why I interview pretty much anybody willing to sit down and talk, whether theyโre male, female, non-binary, gay, straight, or anywhere in between. Everybodyโs story matters because we are literally documenting history in real time.
I always try my best to capture people in a good light because one day, I want us to be able to look back at these moments and say, wowโฆ we was really living.
Thatโs always been the goal for me.
