The UK public celebrates a genuine national treasure on his centenary, which coincides with a landslide of council votes for a political party that rejects net zero, wants to defund the institutions that Attenborough's life has enriched, and doesn't care about nature. Go figure.
Reform want to round up migrants and detain them indefinitely in areas that don’t vote for them.
Yet for most of our media, it’s those marching for Palestine who are creating hatred & fear.
These disgusting plans are an affront to democracy — and must be fiercely opposed.
Green Party: “Israel should stop committing genocide”
British Journalists: “You vile racist antisemites!”
Reform: “we are going to open concentration camps for migrants”
British Journalists: “This is a bold new policy from the latest disruptive force in British politics.”
How the world works in a nutshell: giant corporations profit from an illegal war whilst the governments who wage them tell the rest of us to tighten our belts.

One key finding from the Covid inquiry states that, if lockdown had been imposed just *one week earlier*, it could've cut number of deaths in England by almost half.
You’ll never guess which politician called for this at the time (and was ridiculed for doing so.. see replies!).
🚨 SUMMARY: Key findings from Phase 2 of the Covid-19 inquiry
- Government did "too little, too late", leading to thousands more deaths
- Lockdown left lasting scars on society and worsened existing inequalities
- If lockdown had been imposed a week earlier than March 16, it could've cut number of deaths in England by almost half
- Lockdown could have been avoided if steps such as social distancing and isolating those with symptoms - and their households - had been introduced earlier
- It calls February "a lost month", questioning why Johnson did not chair a single Cobra emergency meeting and noting that the Covid response basically stalled over the half term week, when the Covid crisis in Italy "should have prompted urgent planning across the four nations"
- Criticises all four nations for flawed planning and decision-making, but adds this was undermined by a lack of trust between Boris Johnson and First Ministers
- Johnson oversaw a "toxic, sexist, chaotic culture" in No 10, where rule-breaking seriously eroded public confidence
- Government scientists misjudged how fast the virus was spreading in the early stages
- Nicola Sturgeon misled the public by insisting her plan to eliminate coronavirus in Scotland was achievable
- Most children were not at risk of serious direct harm from Covid-19 and Ministers failed to properly assess the impact of shutting schools
- Children "were not always prioritised" and the Government was not prepared for the "sudden and enormous task" of educating children at home
- Johnson relied on his own optimism and accepted repeated assurances from Matt Hancock, who the report says had a reputation for “overpromising and underdelivering”
- Sir Christopher Wormald – now running the Civil Service for Keir Starmer – presided over "misleading assurances" about the UK being prepared when he was in charge of the Department for Health
- After the 23 March lockdown, errors were repeated, including what the report calls an "unwise" exit from restrictions in the summer, pushed partly by Rishi Sunak
- November 2020 lockdown measures were "too weak" and could have been avoided with an earlier circuit breaker
- The overall lack of urgency overall in Government was "inexcusable"
- Brands Dominic Cummings as "a destabilising influence" during a time of crisis who had "poisoned the atmosphere in 10 Downing Street and undermined the authority of the Prime Minister"
- Chair Baroness Hallett concludes: "Johnson should have appreciated sooner that this was an emergency that required Prime Ministerial leadership to inject urgency into the response"
This morning, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) fired on UNIFIL peacekeepers from a Merkava tank from near a position Israel has established in Lebanese territory.
.@ZackPolanski is asked about the Home Secretarys comments that yesterdays protests about Israels actions were dishonourable (she also said they were unBritish).
Zack is spot on.
