This policy opinion is in the very small minority. Only about 8 states in the U.S. separate public and private schools for high school playoff/championship purposes. Most states still keep them together and use enrollment/classification or competitive-balance tools instead of a hard split.

Why? As a matter of policy and competitive principle, separating teams because some programs are hard to beat sends the wrong message. At the end of the day, the best teams want to play the best teams. The goal should not be to avoid the best teams. The goal should be to beat them.

I do not follow you but will now, and enjoy the civil back and forth. 😉
