Visited 𝐉𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐡 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲, Jorhat today and interacted with the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Jyoti Prasad Saikia, Registrar Dr. Utpal Jyoti Mahanta, and the faculty members.

With 26 departments across Science, Arts, and Commerce, the University is growing rapidly following the upgradation of the erstwhile Jagannath Baruah College into a State University.

During the interaction, I explained the service conditions of the faculty members who transitioned from the College to the University. I also urged the faculty to redesign the undergraduate and postgraduate curricula in line with the demands of the 21st century by strengthening employability, entrepreneurship, innovation, and research.

It is encouraging to see that the infrastructure development works, supported by a ₹10 crore grant from the State Government, are nearing completion. I am confident that Jagannath Baruah University will emerge as a leading centre of higher learning and research in Upper Assam.
