Journée Mondiale des Droits de l'Enfant – 20 Novembre 2025 : « Mon Jour, Mes Droits »

Ce fut un honneur de participer à la commémoration de cette journée au sein du « Foyer de l'Espérance »à Yaoundé , en reconnaissance des efforts extraordinaires qu'il déploie pour la protection des droits de l'enfant, particulièrement ceux des enfants en situation de rue.

En cette Journée mondiale placée sous le thème « Mon Jour, Mes Droits », nous sommes tous invités à prêter une oreille attentive à la voix des enfants. Il s'agit de comprendre leur réalité quotidienne : les moments où leurs droits sont respectés, ceux où ils sont bafoués, et la manière dont ils les revendiquent avec courage.

Cependant, dans le contexte post-électoral que nous traversons, nous faisons face à une contradiction des plus troublantes. Alors que notre devoir est de protéger les plus vulnérables, nous sommes instead témoins de l'arrestation et de la détention d'enfants, notamment ceux vivant dans la rue, pour leur implication présumée dans des manifestations.

Il ne saurait y avoir de droit à la participation sans le droit à la sécurité et à la protection. Un enfant derrière les barreaux ne peut pas célébrer « Mon Jour, Mes Droits ».

C'est pourquoi, aujourd'hui plus que jamais, nous devons exiger que le droit de chaque enfant à s'exprimer librement et à être protégé contre la violence et toute détention arbitraire ne soit pas qu'un simple thème, mais un principe d'action non-négociable.

Écoutons-les vraiment. Protégeons-les concrètement. Leur voix est leur droit.
