@LisaFenDragon Men get really defensive about it ("All rape allegations are fake"), because we've all done/thought something at least kind of shitty, and thus we're aware this puts us on a spectrum with the worst, so we want to deny this and establish moral distance.
@LisaFenDragon The pretty consistent observation is that a worryingly high, but statistically small, minority of men are completely psychotic. Most men are not complete moral monsters. But all men have some tendencies that will rub women the wrong way and are on a spectrum with the worst cases.
@pochaccofem This post was kinda psychotic, but I do think all men are on a spectrum. Male sexuality is inherently objectifying, so even though not all men talk this way, there are tendencies that most women would find disturbing.
@zachmi0@moidsexposed Yeah, I got kicked in the nuts once in front of this art teacher in her 20s, because I called a classmate a 'bitch.' The teacher at first shut down the altercation, sort of chided us both, but obviously found it kinda funny and let us off as kind of fair eye-for-an-eye.
@mrsseaton36@SamPric09472476@moidsexposed Yeah ngl the punch to the balls was very effective lol. But it was also kinda a full-system-reset that made me more open to empathy+conversation (more like a lecture)
@LisaFenDragon But when girls I've dated have decided to make a point by asserting this and being relentless teases, holy shit they made their point. When I was young I used to deny this for ego reasons but yeah now I don't even pretend.
@LisaFenDragon I was talking to a mutual and, although I think you're right, I think part of the reason I didn't see it is that my libido is so high that in relationships it's always kinda been obvious to me that she has control no matter how often we're having sex lol. Hard to take for granted
@mrsseaton36@SamPric09472476@moidsexposed That's fair, most people have a tendency to rationalize bad behavior. Part of it is also that people are pushy when they don't know how to make a move properly.
The one time I was "pushy" the girl shot that down brutally lol. So I learned my lesson and didn't do that again.
@LisaFenDragon It took me a while to understand why you advise women to refuse sex sometimes, but I've realized you're right: it's a way to reassert power and control in the relationship, avoid being taken for granted. Women need to remind men that yes, sex really is enough.
@mrsseaton36@SamPric09472476@moidsexposed I don't think that's quite true. It's not that no men have a conscience. But we do all tend to objectify women and every man has been pushy at some point.
@LisaFenDragon Yeah, it's untrue to begin with, but even taken as it is, it's a confession of the sexual power women have over us. Women themselves underestimate this because they don't understand male sexuality.
@zachmi0@moidsexposed Girls in hs literally did it to me in front of teachers and nobody cared. And of course I never whined to authorities. My instinct was just to desperately try to get out of sight to minimize the embarrassment of being seen by girls in that state
@zachmi0@moidsexposed The first girl who ever kicked me in the nuts told me years later that it was the "most empowering experience of her life," so yeah I'm gonna take her word for it that it's satisfying lol
@mrsseaton36 Yeah, the content of our sexual fantasies is often so simple as to be banal. It's more how constant they are and how they're directed toward basically all women that is shocking.
@moidsexposed@zachmi0 Yeah, I always feel pretty pathetic after a girl's done it to me, but I would feel infinitely more pathetic whining to an authority figure about it lol
My usual instinct is to try my absolute best to pretend it's not so bad... which of course eventually fails.
