@GJobbing41782@TheCriticalDri2 "It's a children's' film, herp derp"
and yet, only 13% of ticket sales were for children's tickets. A higher percentage of kids went to see World War Z, I guess that's a "children's film" too, right? Comics aren't written for kids and haven't been for decades, Cleetus.
@breynoldz@seattletimes This post should be a study in Dem complacency.
Seattle billed Starbucks for decades and called it support. Nashville offered lower costs, talent, and a state that actually wants the jobs. The company did math. You did a morality play.
Most religious communities who came here to escape persecution just wanted to be left in peace to practice their faith freely. Only Islam states they want to be “harsh against disbelievers.” Funny that. Jesus says love your enemy and pray for them. Huh.
For what it’s worth…I had my first baby at age 35 because I had only met and married my husband a few years before. We didn’t have an amnio because I wouldn’t have aborted regardless. So my obgyn at the time wanted me to take a (notoriously unreliable) blood test instead which I did. Results came back saying there was an extremely high chance the baby would have DS. Whatever. He was born and he didn’t have DS. During the first few months of his life I kept having weird ideations of violent things happening to him. I had enough knowledge to realize it was a hormonal thing. I asked for prayer in my mom’s group to deal with it. It eventually subsided. I subsequently had three more babies - I was 40 years old at the time of my fourth pregnancy. Still no amnio and also no more blood tests. Just to say that the hormonal thing is real, and conceiving at a later age is a blessing. Also, if you want marriage and children in your future, it makes sense to prioritize (along with your caree) finding a suitable husband as early as possible.
Why do these writers think screaming at each other in front of their own men is how officers exert their authority? They would be relieved of duty on the grounds of mental instability for acting like this.
Did you know Galadriel’s gift to Aragorn is very different in Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring?
In Peter Jackson’s film, when it is Aragorn’s turn to receive a gift, Galadriel looks at the necklace he carries from Arwen and tells him that she has nothing greater to give him than the gift he already bears: Arwen’s love.
She then speaks of Arwen’s choice to give up her immortality and remain in Middle-earth for Aragorn. Galadriel fears that by choosing a mortal life and the fate of Men, Arwen will gradually lose the grace and beauty of the Elves.
Aragorn responds by saying that he wishes Arwen would leave these shores and sail to Valinor, where she could remain with her own people. It’s a brief but meaningful exchange that highlights the sacrifice behind Arwen’s choice.
But in Tolkien’s book, this moment is completely different. Instead of speaking about Arwen’s necklace, Galadriel gives Aragorn the Elessar, the Elfstone, a great green stone set in a silver brooch shaped like an eagle. She explains that she had given it to her daughter Celebrían, who later passed it to Arwen, and now it comes to Aragorn as a token of hope.
“I strongly disagree with Rowling’s views on trans people. Just not enough to refuse the check I get for playing a character in the world she created.”
Woah, woah, woah.
Um, this is super transphobic. We've been told for years that none of those things make you a woman. All that matters is if you FEEL like a woman.
Bigot. 😤
Shelby Steele -- zero allegations of plagiarism or other misdeeds.
Thomas Sowell -- zero allegations of plagiarism or other misdeeds.
Walter Williams -- zero allegations of plagiarism or other misdeeds.
Ward Connerly -- zero allegations of plagiarism or other misdeeds.
Larry Elder -- zero allegations of plagiarism or other misdeeds.
Not one of them ever plagiarized a word. Not one fraud. Not one retraction. Their reward for a lifetime of honest work? Uncle Tom. Race traitor. Sellout.
Claudine Gay -- plagiarized her way to the top and resigned as Harvard's president.
Jason Arday -- Cambridge's youngest black professor now facing major plagiarism allegations and resigned while his university investigates whether or not his own biography was real.
Nobody called them sellouts. The Left called them victims of racism, a racial witch hunt.
In the age of white guilt, honesty is punished and fraud is protected, as long as you serve the right side.
