The Greatest Books Of All Time
Part 2 - Al Muwatta', c. 2nd Century AH
Written by the eponymous founder of the Maliki school of Fiqh, this book is the very first to combine hadith and fiqh, to be used in legislation.
It is said that Imam Malik only agreed to write this book at the request of the Caliph of the time, Harun al-Rashid.
The reason for the Caliph's request was to dispel the differences between the scholars of his time, who varied greatly in Fiqh and were quickly developing rivalries.
After reluctantly agreeing to the Caliph's demands, Imam Malik went on to write one of the most legendary compendiums of Fiqh ever written;
With more than 100 explanations written since, by household names in the Maliki school such as Ibn 'Abd al-Barr, Ibn al-'Arabi, and even from other schools of Fiqh such as Ibn Hazm.
It remains one of the most reviewed works of Fiqh to this present day.

The Qur'an
The word of God manifest, the only book that is truly, second to none.
The wisdom behind the Quran being revealed to a people who were masters of poetry and linguistics,
Is the same as why Isa (AS) was blessed with medicinal miracles to show his people, who were masters of medicine;
And likewise why Musa (AS) was bestowed with miracles of magic, his people were skilled magicians.
God gave each people a miracle in the discipline they knew like the back of their hand, testing them to see if they would accept his message, which they knew to be true.
And the rest, is history.
