I've been looking at the language #AI and so far, they don't compete with a human #writing #fiction. Somehow the algorithm has picked up a style that's even more 'purple prose' than my own, and it's not every so readable. I wonder why that is.

@writer5230 Yes. And sometimes I can just about bear it. The book I'm reading at the moment is in the present tense. But when I mentally translate it into the past tense, it has so much more HEFT.

If authors write their novel in the present tense, they risk losing readership in a way they wouldn't with the past tense. As a reader, I generally skip those after the 'look inside'. I wonder why some people choose to write in this tense.
