Cruel and unusual? What about the lifelong trauma inflicted on this innocent child?

Canadians are right to be outraged. Time and again, we see a justice system that seems more concerned with protecting offenders than delivering justice for victims.

#ONStorm #ONwx ⚡ Southern Ontario’s Atmosphere Will Be Loaded With Storm Fuel This Week, But Will Anything Actually Develop?

As temperatures climb this week, the atmosphere is expected to become increasingly unstable with CAPE (Convective Available Potential Energy) values between 2,000 and 4,000+ J/kg across much of Southern Ontario starting Tuesday. That’s more than enough energy to support strong to severe thunderstorms if storms are able to form.

The key phrase is *if* storms develop. CAPE is like gasoline waiting to be ignited. It tells us there’s plenty of fuel available, but it doesn’t guarantee thunderstorms. We still need a trigger such as a cold front, lake breeze or another boundary to lift the warm, humid air and get storms going.

At this point, confidence is high that the atmosphere will be primed for severe weather, but confidence is much lower on exactly where or when storms will initiate.

This elevated instability is expected to remain in place through much of the week, including around Canada Day, meaning there could be multiple opportunities for thunderstorms. Canada Day celebrations could certainly be disrupted in some areas.

As we get closer, models should provide a much clearer picture of whether storms will develop and which areas could be at risk.
