We left blue California for purple Nevada for a combination of reasons. We considered: Southern Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, and Arizona. I was able to retire financially so the location wasn't an issue for my job. The deciding factor boiled down to being close to our children who were living in Northern California, and we wanted to live in a beautiful, mountainous area free of crime and awful politics. We were familiar with the Lake Tahoe area but rented a house for a year to test it out before buying. We loved it so we stayed and purchased a house.

@ForestMommy Reverse sear works well for me. Bake in oven at 275 degrees until you get 120 degrees in your roast. Rest it for 10 minutes wrapped in foil then throw on a super hot bbq to brown the outside. Rest again and slice. A little bearnaise sauce on the side.
