Van Halen's 1984 album, released on January 9, 1984, was the band's sixth studio album and the last to feature David Lee Roth as lead vocalist until his temporary return years later.
Recorded between June and October 1983 at Eddie Van Halen’s new home studio, called 5150 (after the California Penal Code section for involuntary psychiatric commitment), the album marked a significant shift in their sound.
Eddie Van Halen prominently incorporated synthesizers (such as the Oberheim OB-Xa), a move that caused internal tensions with David Lee Roth and producer Ted Templeman, who were more attached to classic rock. The song “Jump,” built around a keyboard riff, became the band’s first and only number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and one of the biggest hits of the 1980s. Other major hits included “Panama,” “Hot for Teacher,” and “I’ll Wait.”
The album reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and sold over 10 million copies in the United States alone, earning a diamond certification, and around 20 million worldwide. Its iconic cover features a cherub smoking a cigarette, created by Margo Nahas.
Although it was a massive commercial success that cemented Van Halen’s status as rock superstars, creative differences between Eddie (who wanted to experiment) and Roth became more pronounced during the tour. Shortly thereafter, in 1985, Roth left the band. 1984 represents both the commercial peak of the Roth era and the beginning of its end, and it remains one of the most influential hard rock albums of the 1980s.

Picture 2 church members going to their pastor about sexual abuse.
The pastor tells them to stay quiet or his friends will get hurt.
They don't.
The pastor then calls them traitors & excommunicates them.
Then the flock sends them death threats.
That's Trump & Maga.
Kash Patel isn't hunting terrorists.
He's not hunting down pedophiles.
He's not going after "bad guys."
He's investigating reporters, for leaks about his alleged drinking. That's INSANE.
Kash Patel is UNFIT.
Dude's gotta go.
Who would have ever imagined that this Country would appoint a man that was a Heroin addict for 14 years to be the Secretary of Health and Human Services! This is what complete incompetence and insanity looks like.
Kyle Kulinski on Trump: “If any other president acted 1/10th as deranged as this, they’d have been impeached before the day was over. He gets held to the lowest fucking standard ever. He’s committed a thousand crimes. I can’t even keep up with all the corruption”

BREAKING: Trump's top economist goes on TV and literally brags that Americans are going into credit card debt to afford things in this disastrous economy.
Your financial suffering is a joke to them...
"The consumer is really, really firing on all cylinders just like the corporate sector, you're seeing in the earnings report," said Kevin Hassett, Director of the National Economic Council.
"And they're doing that because they have so much more money in their pockets," he lied. "In fact, I had the head of one of the big five banks in my office yesterday, going through the credit card data. And just as Secretary Bessent said, credit card spending is through the roof."
"They're spending more on gasoline but they're spending more on everything else too," he added.
In reality, people are spending more on "everything" because everything is so damn expensive now. It's not that we have extra money to burn, it's that prices are through the roof. First, Trump spiked them with his harebrained tariffs. Then, he drove up oil prices and every connected sector with his pointless Iran War.
The fact that people are using their credit cards so much gives the entire game away. They don't have the liquid cash to afford clothes, food, and other necessities so they're going into debt, praying that the economy will turn around and they'll be able to pay it off eventually.
Inflated spending might look good on corporate earnings sheets, but it's a nightmare for the bank accounts of hard working Americans who are struggling to provide for their families.
But of course, that's irrelevant to the Trump administration. The only thing that they care about are the super-rich and the corporations that helped foist them into power.
