Dipping toe into the twitter-sphere before my donor conceived kids do. They know their story (non anonymous) and I want to hear the good the bad and the ugly to prepare them.
@YouLookLikeMe_ is brilliant glad to hear the voices of donor conceived people. I am a donor parent and I’m fed up of our young people being told how to feel by parental pressure and relentless positivity we need to LISTEN
I’m in a I don’t give a shit my kids are not genetically related to me phase it’s cyclical some days I weep because of this some days it’s so important today I accept it and I don’t give a crap it’s so liberating
When I was in my early 20s, I tried to take my own life. A random couple who had read my blog on the internet saved my life. I traveled up to Edinburgh to stay with them for a few weeks while I recovered. Now I try to be a force for good for others.
@HughesHaili@LucyandYak@drmartens Stop having the hang ups your handing them down to that gorgeous little bundle be you own it read it fat is a feminist issue listen to everything Susie has ever done and be at peace
@DaveFurnas @genevievemitch People who get vaccinated do it to protect themselves and others. If over fifty percent population vaccinated everyone is safer. They worry although they are safe they might transmit the infection to someone else. Anti vaccers being selfish don’t get that.
@ChildlessWeek We did. We wanted to so so much. We went on 2 year waiting list. We submitted to a battery of psychological financial physical tests we passed with flying colours. Ireland signed The Hague convention and every country in the world shut. 10 years on no child
@YouLookLikeMe_ brilliant series thank you so glad people like you getting out there and explaining what it’s like to be donor conceived so my kids can grow up in a world that gets it 👏👏👏
The book explores themes of difference, friendship, connection and family. As well as a murder mystery involving a vampire (of course!). We love it!

Drives me crazy that my doctor knows who my child’s donor was, the nurses know, the HFEA knows but my children don’t. Open should mean open in the UK. 18 is too late they should grow up knowing who she is. #Donor#ChildrensMentalHealthWeek
So frustrated that my children’s donor is known and is happy to be known we want to know her my children want to know her but the hfea can sit on that information till they are 18.
